This group is for all folks running the original IBM VM/370 Release 6 operating system (or later (e.g. VMTCE (Community Edition)) on Hercules. Like the other early IBM operating systems this version has always been in the public domain and so can be freely distributed. The base version as supplied by IBM is lacking in many facilities. IBM solved this by providing additional extension products which were licensed and so are not available. There are however many user enhancements available which can be installed. In addition, in order to get users up and running quickly updated "releases" of VM/370 included the most popular updates are available for download, so novices can start to learn VM without having to delve into the system internals. It is intended that this wiki will provide information on the base release and these updates.
The available versions are here :-

Re: XNET v1.4.1
Does the lack of a "heartbeat" help or hinder? I don't know. I have kept my two KVMs up and running for 8 days, and sessions dialed to/through each XNET, and it doesn't drop. What I did discover, is

Support for the XEDIT "SET SCREEN" command, particularly in its generalized form, will be particularly attractive when I finish my CP mod to support arbitrary (almost) 3270 screen sizes... it's pretty

Personally, I like the split screen feature in XEDIT. It is especially handy when I use a 43 line terminal definition. For copy/paste operations it is really nice to be able to navigate different

Re: Workshop Tapes - was Re: Examine RDR Files
In Files, in the folder VMWORKSHOP is a zip file of the 1987 VM Workshop Tools Tape. You would need to have BLOCKTAP ON to view any of the files beyond the first one, using vmfplc2. I Hope This Helps.

I need your feedback: is it important to have XEDIT's SET SCREEN command in EE ? XEDIT allows to divide the physical screen into multiple logical screens. Multiple files are visible at the same time,
