This group is for all folks running the original IBM VM/370 Release 6 operating system (or later (e.g. VMTCE (Community Edition)) on Hercules. Like the other early IBM operating systems this version has always been in the public domain and so can be freely distributed. The base version as supplied by IBM is lacking in many facilities. IBM solved this by providing additional extension products which were licensed and so are not available. There are however many user enhancements available which can be installed. In addition, in order to get users up and running quickly updated "releases" of VM/370 included the most popular updates are available for download, so novices can start to learn VM without having to delve into the system internals. It is intended that this wiki will provide information on the base release and these updates.
The available versions are here :-

For what it's worth, when I was doing releases, I built RPMs as well as macOS installer disk images. Perhaps what can be done is to add recipes for Windows installer, .DMG, RPM, and DEB packages to

This is the issue we talked about a few weeks ago on this list. The BREXX interpreter has a design flaw in the PARSE statement processor. I opened an issue on the developer's website. BREXX PARSE does

Rexx PARSE on VM/SP 5 behaves different from BRexx on VM/370 CE V1M1R1.1.
#VMCE
Not sure if different is wrong, or just different, which is why I'm asking. Below is a fragment of an exec I am working on, and the behavior of Rexx on CE, is different from what I learned on SP 6.

Mark, As you hinted, it gets quite complicated. Different distributions have different package methods - RPM is primarily Red Hat based. Debian & Ubuntu have a different method. As for Slackware,
