This group is for all folks running the original IBM VM/370 Release 6 operating system (or later (e.g. VMTCE (Community Edition)) on Hercules. Like the other early IBM operating systems this version has always been in the public domain and so can be freely distributed. The base version as supplied by IBM is lacking in many facilities. IBM solved this by providing additional extension products which were licensed and so are not available. There are however many user enhancements available which can be installed. In addition, in order to get users up and running quickly updated "releases" of VM/370 included the most popular updates are available for download, so novices can start to learn VM without having to delve into the system internals. It is intended that this wiki will provide information on the base release and these updates.
The available versions are here :-

Re: OT: LCM+L VM/SP image is offline this weekend
I take that back. I'm using upper *and* lower case in the config file my Hercules instance is running right now. Are you sure that's where the problem lies? On Thu, Jun 27, 2024 at 11:00?AM Jay Maynard via <jaymaynard=[email protected]> wrote:

Say what?! I've always used uppercase device addresses in my config files, but it should accept lower case as well. I'll check that and fix it. On Thu, Jun 27, 2024 at 10:56?AM Drew Derbyshire via <swhobbit=[email protected]> wrote: On Wed, Jun 26, 2024 at 05:55 PM, Mark A. Stevens wrote: --

I suspect it was built from many places. There are quite a few games in the files section on the groups space on groups.io. Dave -----Original Message----- |

And it's back, now hosted by sdf.org.? Access via:
The latter two options both use a host-side instance of c3270. The direct access planet.sdf.org port 23 access may change; I'll post if it does. p.s. My new (!) improved (!) disclaimer: I do not work for the LCM+L -or- SDF, and do not speak for either.?? ? ?

Re: OT: LCM+L VM/SP image is offline this weekend
Hi everyone--
Does the game disk that was on the LCM+L VM/SP5 image exist somewhere on the 'net? I remember playing those mainframe versions of games on family day at Santa Teresa Lab when I was 7-8 years old. I joined the group awhile back and I'm sorry that I've not had too much to say; I'm not really a mainframe person, though I find it all fascinating.
