Re: VM/ESA woes (W state 9025)
Hi, Joe I've tried adding it back. But, as I suspected, that wasn't the problem. Also, it previously worked under z/VM. Also, from what I gather, VM/ESA doesn't seem to support QDIO/ETH. And that

Does this work for every one? Renaming the 1.3 beta: *VM/370 Community Edition V1R3M0* I guess the "shortest" form could be: VM/370 CE V1R3 or VM/370 CE 1.3.0? Happy New Year to all, ... Mark Stevens

Re: VM/ESA woes (W state 9025)
OK its what I thought. You have QDIO devices specified, but no QDIO devices in your hercules config. So the DIAGNOSE checking is failing and causing the issue i believe. Joe

What does your hercules config look like? 9025 can mean hardware damage, so your hercules config may not be correct. Joe

Well, I didn't try with 3.x, yet. Partly because I wanted Hyperion's network support, which seems to be slightly best. But I might try with 3.x later... Yup. First thing.

Did you edit the configuration to allow you to run licensed systems? That is not the default setting, and I believe that when you try to IPL, it will fail if you have not done so.

VM/ESA woes (W state 9025)
Hello, fellow virtual mainframers. I tried running the VM/ESA 2.4 (tailored for P390) on Hercules. I tried to follow more or less what was laid on device maps, because that's what made sense to me.
