Climate change is a growing and urgent health challenge, particularly for populations already facing health and economic disparities. is essential for integrating climate and health data, allowing policymakers and health leaders to make informed decisions as they build climate-resilient health systems. By combining satellite data, weather patterns, and health sector insights, we can better predict disease outbreaks, respond to changing health needs, and mitigate the impact of extreme weather events.?

Digital Square at PATH with , , and the World Health Organization (WHO)-World Meteorological Organization (WMO) to support the development of DPI and digital public goods (DPGs) aimed at enhancing climate- and health-informed data systems. By leveraging cross-sectoral foundational DPI and DPGs, the consortium seeks to advance the operationalization of a shared to integrate climate and health data and improve global health resilience to the increasing threats posed by climate change.? Digital Square at PATH -- via the project ¨C is supporting the WHO-WMO Joint Programme for Climate and Health to foster ecosystem mapping, synthesizing, standardizing, and sharing climate-informed health data services for human health related to climate change, extreme weather and climate, water, air quality, solar radiation, and other environmental hazards.??

One of the primary objectives of the DPI4CH project is the adaptation of Digital Square¡¯s existing to encompass climate-informed digital health solutions.? The Guidebook is a compendium of (a subset of ), mature and open-source software and services that are adaptable to different countries and contexts. By expanding the GGG to include climate-informed health tools, platforms, content and use cases (a GGG4CH), PATH is helping stakeholders identify, implement, and scale open-source digital tools that support interoperable climate-health services as a resource for policymakers, procurement officials, and health leaders seeking to reduce climate change¡¯s health and economic impacts at national and regional levels.?

As part of this effort, we are convening a Peer Review Group (PRG) to ensure the GGG4CH is comprehensive and impactful. The PRG will play a pivotal role in ensuring its relevance and applicability to diverse stakeholders across the climate and health sectors. As a member of the PRG, you will have the opportunity to:

  • Shape the GGG4CH: Ensure the guidebook effectively supports identification and application of mature digital tools of digital tools, frameworks, and resources that address climate and health.
  • Contribute expertise: Review and provide feedback for alignment with global standards, best practices, and stakeholder needs.? ?
  • Evaluate Content: Provide feedback on a GGG4CH draft to ensure technical accuracy and alignment with best practices.
  • Collaborate with peers: Engage with leading experts and practitioners across climate, health, and digital innovation sectors.

Your role:
As a PRG member*, you will:

  • Participate in monthly one-hour virtual meetings over the course of 6-7 months (February to August 2025).
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of experts to provide input and constructive feedback to guide the development of the GGG4CH
  • Review of documentation and the draft deliverables of the guidebook website on an as-needed basis between meetings (generally either bi-weekly or monthly review cycles).??

*This role is a voluntary, unpaid role in a working group with an anticipated time commitment to 1-day a month. For more details, please see the scope of work for the PRG attached to this email.
