Fun, celebratory, brief online activity

This week, I am closing out a four-month virtual community engagement process in three cities. I'd like to end our meetings with some sort of activity that celebrates our work together and helps to galvanize them for future collaboration when this engagement is done. Does anyone have suggestions for something engaging and fun? And probably no more than 10-15 minutes? There will be 30-40 people in each meeting.?

Thank you!

Ellen

Ellen,

I'm thinking about something that is both collaborative and summative in nature. Two possibilities:
  • Collective drawing/creating activity: Get everyone on a whiteboard space or, if too challenging due to low bandwidth and lower tech comfort, on something like Google Slides. Give them a task to collectively create something - maybe a motto or sankalpa for their continuing work (text with visuals), maybe a coat-of-arms or logo that represents what they've collectively accomplished (visuals with text) - and ask that everyone make their literal mark on this product. You could break them into smaller groups (3-5) to ensure that there's at least one tech-comfortable person per group, and maybe you precede this breakout?with some individual brainstorming or creation time. It will likely be messy - but collaboration IS messy, and that's part of the beauty! The final product is shared as an artefact that they can print and put on a wall, make their screensaver, etc.
  • Video montage: Using a platform like Tribute.co, ask everyone to contribute a short (10-20-second video) responding to a key question, such as, "What did you learn from this?" or "What is your main hope for the future of this collaboration?", etc.? Use the software to make the montage, and then share the resulting video live.
It sounds like a great initiative, and I'm sure you'll find a great way to celebrate and galvanize!

Cheers,
Sarah
