Online Youth Liberation School - platform ideas?

Hi all,

Does anyone have suggestions for a platform / app that can help us to organize courses / offerings for an online liberation school?

I'm thinking we'd hold the courses via zoom, but am looking for something to organize the schedule that is user-friendly so that people could offer up and add in their own courses.

I looked at google classroom, but if people have other suggestions that would be great. Or if anyone out there is doing a similar project I'd love to connect.

We are planning this out of Youth Organize! California - a statewide network of youth organizing groups in CA. Audience for it being high school or transition aged youth, and for staff at youth organizing shops.

Kajabi Rocks!!! It’s a bit expensive, but if you are running courses on it, it’s an amazing value.

Agreed Amy. And also the communication piece is embedded in it, so at the end, it is not expensive at all.

That’s right, Fernando - AND registration is integrated, as well as a hosted website (with your domain name). So you’re right. It seems like a big chunk of cash, but the value is really great.

I’ve set up several Kajabi accounts/ programs, and manage 3-4 of them for friends and colleagues, so if anyone is interested and has questions I’m happy to help answer them if I can. Contact me back channel.

PBWORKS is a wiki that hosts EDUHub for teachers at?
. It has built in templates for schedules, course outlines, etc. It’s free, requires no special skills or downloads, and you can set up a site from anywhere. It is the most secure site I’ve ever used and it’s been my go to for nearly 20 years.?

Could someone share a Kajabi url for one that’s set up. I’m using Mighty Networks and would love to compare.?

For example can this truly take the place of your primary website, registration tool, course tool, online community etc??

Amalia,

Sure - I haven’t built my own website there (I already have one and don’t want to re-build it), but here’s a “landing page” for my evergreen courses in online facilitation that was done in Kajabi:?

If you click through to see the details for each of the two courses, you’ll see examples of how Kajabi “stand alone” landing pages work. If you click the “I’m ready. Sign Me up” button, you’ll see an example of what their registration process looks like.?

You can’t see the actual courses until you’ve registered, so I can’t show you that unless we're sharing a screen, but if you’re really interested, I’ll set up a tine to walk you through the whole Kajabi thing.

Here an example of a website built in Kajabi (the design might not be everyone’s taste, but it shows some of what’s possible):?

There is also a pretty sophisticated email marketing integration set up in the back end, and they have a community function with forums that is not all that great at this point, but they are putting a lot of resources into it and it should be looking pretty amazing within a few months. Kajabi is very customizable, and you can make it look pretty much however you want it to.

I hope that helps.

Warm Best,

Amy
