What organizations do endorsements in a way that is trackable? IE, how would we know about the endorsements?

Edited

Thank you, Teletha. That sounds great - I will explore this more.

Re: Next gen doc editor

Thanks, Tom. I think we have decided to go with . We especially like how people can edit text directly and merge their edits into the document. Any changes can be walked back, and you can easily see who made what edits. The fact that people can edit directly and merge their changes means less work for the person who has to finalize the document. The biggest drawback is the fact that you can only export as a pdf (unless I'm missing something), but we can work with that. I also just learned about this one (). It seems really interesting, but doesn't have that direct edit/merge function (as far as I can tell at a cursory glance)?

Hi Teletha,

I've not found anything personally, but I'd be very keen to hear more if you come across anything. I have just seen almanac too and up front it looks promising. I believe there is a lot of potential for improved learning systems, asynchronous working and information flows across teams using live documents. My biggest question for implementing their use is how to control them and keep them organised - I've experienced that the potential fall out from poorly managed live documents can be greater than the reward.

Aside from new tools, it would be great to hear if anyone has any tips for how they manage this currently. At the moment I'm leaning towards assigning document 'managers' who keep an overview of changes, but this doesn't seem like the ideal solution.

Re: Next gen doc editor

Hi John,?
Yes, it needs to support revision control, easily show who made the edits (and ideally interact with them about it), and group consensus on changes would be a sweet cherry on top!

Re: Join the Online Facilitation Unconference (OFU), October 19¨C25

Seconding Tim's comment- this OFU is definitely in full swing! Not only are the sessions plentiful, but the chat board alone is worth the (very low) cost of admission with unique insights and perspectives, interesting questions from a global community. (I just spent the last 2 hours going down the rabbit hole of community introductions and discussion topics, and LOVED it! =) )

As part of OFU and IAF's #FacWeek, my team has?partnered with X360 for a series of self-guided, small group conversations hosted on our new ?video platform . We're also offering guided (and unguided) tours of our two platforms (?&?) built specifically with facilitators in mind?and sharing our insights into creating meaningful group processes and conversations online.

Really looking forward to hearing about new tools and strategies, learn what are some of the positives that we've taken away from this unique moment in our lives, and brainstorm on what the new, new normal will look like once we come out of the pandemic. Hope to "run into" other f4c folks during OFU!

Re: SpatialChat/Gather #technology

I first heard about from Lucas in the demo of Qiqochat during OFU, and I tried it out with a couple of colleagues (you can have up to 4 people in a session for free).

We liked the interface and the ease of participating and having different conversations.

A couple of questions for this community:

  • If you have a basic subscription, can you create multiple rooms to allow people to move in and out of different spaces?
  • How easy is it to upgrade capacity if you need to accommodate more than 50 people (I'm thinking up to 150 people, so not massive gatherings).
  • If not, what creative workarounds might you use?
  • Is there a way to "summon" everyone to the host if you wanted to make announcements, or to send broadcast messages?
  • Are there alternative platforms that provide similar functionality of participants moving in and out of conversations? and that are reasonably affordable?(up to a few hundred dollars)?

I look forward to the thoughtful and practical responses from this community!
