For small LCD's, like a single digit or a multiplexed
dual digit, it looks easy enough to do a simple
routine in the micro to drive. But what about larger
displays or if you don't want to "waste" time doing
display work? I found National's MM5453, which works
for one project, but it's by no means cheap
($4.65/each at Newark).
