Re: Max vac on xfmr sec.
Dunno if it would scale....or not.? ?How do I scale a huge plate xfmr ?? ? Do I multiply the source Z? by 10? as well? to simulate the 1/10 size plate xfmr ?

Re: Max vac on xfmr sec.
Everything scales. Pretend 1.0KVAC. Instead of 0.5Amp current, draw 0.05Amp. Result will be 1.414KV which you multiply by 10 to get actual voltage. R and C and %ripple values will be unchanged. Or

Max vac on xfmr sec.
Can the max vac on the sec of the plate xfmr be increased...... like up to 15 kvac ? As is, it's maxed at 10 kvac. ( aprx? 14.14 kvdc? ?with a? FWB and? C input filter). I was trying to simulate

Re: Can't Load Any PSU
Back up! Thanks. I also deleted all the PSUD registry data as I had some Beta 3 entries. NOT recommended for everyone UNLESS you REALLY know what you are doing. - Ian

Re: Can't Load Any PSU
Hi Ian, If you're getting the fullwave solid state diagram as above then PSUD2 is initialising and then failing at the point at which it tries to load the default PSU which is located (typically) at:

Can't Load Any PSU
Today I tried to load PSU files and always get the same layout which is the stock after install file. Beta 78 & 79 behave the same. PSU files I'm trying to load are all correct date and differ

Re: Common mode chokes?
Hi, I'm afraid PSUD2 won't do common mode chokes due to the way the voltage sources work and PSUD3 doesn't have this on the roadmap either. If I was doing this, I'd probably model it in a SPICE

Common mode chokes?
Hello, I use a common mode choke in my power supplies, but I'm really just guessing about the results I'm getting. I'd prefer to model them in software, but I can't figure out how to include one in

Hi Stephen, Sorry to hear the list of rectifiers is not coming up. Do you get a message at startup "Unable to load default PSU"? Also, I've included details of the end to end process below: *TO CHANGE

5AR4 model
Hi Duncan I have downloaded psud2_build79, and I think I need to create a new rectifier model to cover the GZ34/5AR4. On the other hand it looks like it might already be modelled in a library of

Hi Felipe, I'm unsure of what further help I can offer; PSUD seems to give the right numbers against LTSpice, so based on the information you have provided, the supply should give 60mA at 323 Volts or

Hi Duncan, Yes not enough power for my real world circuit, when I use CCS as anode load maximum can get is 26mA so 13mA per channel in place of 30mA per channel. Thanks & regards Felipe

Hi Felipe, I ran this circuit with the choke through LTSpice and it gives 323.2 Volts, quite close to the results you are getting from PSUD. PSUD might be getting confused by the very low value or R

Hi Duncan, Attached simulations with PSUDII of the PSU not giving enough power but real world not enough power, any idea why? Tried without the choke without success. Thanks & regards Felipe
