C/2025 F2 (SWAN)
Hi All.
Just now was released CBET 5538 and SWAN25F = C/2025 F2 (SWAN)!
My congratulations to Michael and Robert! Great job guys!?
I am also grateful to each and everyone who took part in this case - I proud that I can be a part of so good and so powerful astro-community. Also many thanks to Daniel Green and to CBAT and MPC staff.

¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHi all, ? We now finally have a proper name for it. Great team effort. Well done Vladimir, Rob and thanks to those assisting the MPC to get this finally announced. Most importantly, the SWAN team for providing their data in a format that allows us to hunt for comets. Hopefully the SOHO funding will continue through 2025 until a replacement is launched. The CCOR1 will be the next generation satellite, but I fear that a SWAN instrument alternative is not being considered. ? Kind regards, Michael ? ? Hi Michael, Rob and All.
I can fully agree with statement that the SWAN instrument and the SOHO space observatory in total - are the bright example of aero-space designing. In particulary, in term of excellent realibility and durability - 30 years working in harsh open space conditions - it`s amazing! And I also must to say good words and thanks to all engineers who created it and to all operators who operated/operate it.?

And just one more thing...
Some minutes ago I found Wiki page about 25F2 but this page must be edited because it mistakenly does not contain Rob`s name as co-discoverer. I tried to edit it but my IP is blocked for editing, perhaps, due to the war time in UA. Can someone repair this important error?
Thanks in advance, Vladimir. |
Hi Vladimir, As a somewhat regular Wikipedia editor I have no idea why your IP would be blocked (though I don't think they blanket ban IPs unless they're communal as part of a school or government building etc? I could try to diagnose if you (privately) share it, but I digress), but I've added the mention of Rob's independent find. ~Sam On Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at 06:42:56 AM EDT, Vladimir Bezugly via groups.io <vbez@...> wrote: Sorry... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/C/2025_F2_(SWAN) |
