I've gone the other way... my snooping, analysis and cross-referencing, learned in my high school "Research Techniques" class back in the Previous Century, is of course useful for Model Railroading Topics but it has really informed my work skills as well.? I still find that the hobby work reinforces my day job, and vice versa.
