I too have been having problems accessing the A1G site. Part of my problem which I hope I got fix is my aol (commonly know as aolhell). If I would of just stayed with version 8.0, everything would just be fine. But since up grading to 9.0 optimzed......well that's a whole "nother" story. Getting into A1g for me requires that I hit refresh everytime to access the site and the pictures. Though not all pictures work doing this method. I do hope that George can work this problem out some how. Would changing the site to another server fix the problem? Also, would it be a help to George if he took the site to a better place and ask for donations for the up keep of the site? And would everyone using this yahoogroup or anyone else accessing the page be willing to help out? (just a suggestion)
During Christmas time, I ran across a passenger set that someone put up for co-signment. This was a SP daylight set consisting of a ABA of Concor PA's (Kato drives in the "A"s with a dummy B) plus 9 cars which are mostly A1G Atlas/ Rivarossi. The passenger cars are not in their original condition as the original owner glued people in the seats and glued extra weight to the bottom of the cars. Two of the cars in the set are the Bachmann full domes which were custom painted and the original three wheeled trucks were replaced with two wheeled trucks. Though they are nice cars, SP never had full dome ones. They prefered to use the 3/4 dome types. After tweeking the Concor/Kato drives in the PA's, the set runs pretty nice. I got the whole set for a wopping $35.00
That was my own Christmas present to me!(lol) I would surely love to see Atlas getting back into making Passenger equipment once again even if they have the stuff made over seas in China. Someone needs to fill that void between Kato and Concor and offer a good quality passenger car at a affordable price while not waiting years and years between runs.
(Get it, (wait for ever) Kato<-----------------------------------------------------------"Atlas"--------------------------------(got what you want but it's so so) Concor.
That's just my two cents on that.
