Gray tried to recruit me to become a soldier for this shadow agency he serves. Said they could help me control my abilities, to use them to make me a weapon. When I refused, they came after me.? ? "My parents disowned me when I was 16. I have lived the past year on my own, working odd jobs,?traveling?from place to place. During that time Gray?approached?me for the first time. When I refused to work for him, he tried to have me kidnapped. Twice now they've come for me...both times I got away.? ? "I hoped I could come here, learn how to control my abilities...to understand them," Sadie said. "But I don't want to make trouble for you or anyone here." ? (Del) ? Del frowned in thought at the name.? "We've heard that name before.? Like a lot of these quasi-government groups, it's hard to know how much is real and how much is just stuff they want people to think." ? "As for making trouble for us though," Del waved the thought away with a dismissive gesture, "we've been in trouble since we were born.? And we're stronger together than we are all on our own." ? "You must be tired," she went on, looking sympathetic.? "I can give you a temporary room, just for tonight.? We can find you something permanent tomorrow." She led the newcomer down a hallway.? "Do you prefer a room to yourself, or would you like a roommate? We have a few students who aren't currently paired up with anyone.? It's up to you." ? "It would help though if you could tell us more about your situation," she went on.? "To start with, just who are 'they' that you're referring to?? We're aware of a number of groups - and individuals - who seek to control or manipulate mutants to serve their own purposes.? We'd like to know if this threat is coming from one we know about or is an unknown source we haven't been aware of." ? ? (Sadie) Sadie sighed, "They are government, I think. I think I would actually love for you to hurt me.¡± She said flirtatiously. ¡°But if it¡¯s the truth you¡¯re looking for,¡± she said putting her feet on the floor and sitting on the edge of the bed. ¡°That¡¯s?a?very easy fix. I was hired to assassinate the prince, by the same people who hired you to assassinate the prince. Guess they didn¡¯t think you would take the job. So they sent me in as a back up or they sent me in to do the job because they knew you wouldn¡¯t do it. Or maybe even they knew neither one of us would do it and this is just some great big elaborate plan to get us all together in the same room.? ¡°Hmmm,¡± Eli said tapping her chin. ¡°Now, why do you think they would want that. I mean you are here and you are protectorate.¡± She said pointing to Scarlett¡¯s. ¡°And dear old mummy¡¯s here and she¡¯s the Prince¡¯s bodyguard.¡± She said pointing Hollywood. ¡°And I am here. The suspect everyone has their current attention on.¡± She said pointing to herself. ¡°Makes you wonder what that mean, right.¡± She said nodding. ¡°I mean if you¡¯re here,¡± she said pointing to Scarlet. ¡°and you¡¯re here.¡± She said pointing to Hollywood. ¡°And I am here,¡± she said pointing to herself again. ¡°then who is protecting the prince.¡± Right at her words a loud explosion seem to rock the building, causing everything to shake and the room to fill with smoke.?Eli quickly jumped up. She reached for Scarlett, throwing her into Hollywood then escaped the room, closing the door behind her. Since the hall way was also filled with smoke, she was able to disappear into the fog. (Hollywood) Hollywood listened to Eli as she spoke and was about to argue that she was not the Prince's bodyguard, but then realized where the conversation was leading. She was about to push Scarlett out of the way and run when the explosion took place. Then she found the red head suddenly in her arms, watched as Eli ran out the door and closed it. Good thing it didn't lock. Hollywood grabbed Scarlett by the hand, "come on!!" she exclaimed as she dragged her out of the cell and down the hall. She needed to get them to the surface incase the explosion was going to cause the building to collapse. (Scarlett MacAleister) Everything happened so quickly, before she knew it there was a loud explosion, then Eli had thrown her into Hollywood before disappearing out the door into a smoke filled corridor. She was about to go after Eli when Hollywood grabbed her hand and yelled, "Come on!" Together they flew out the door into the nearly zero visibility of the hallway and they ran down the corridor until they arrived at the staircase leading upstairs. Before they mounted the stairs, Scarlett cleared her throat above yelling they could hear upstairs, along with the constant blaring noise of fire alarms echoing through the Midnight Society. "Hollywood," Scarlett said firmly. "If the walls are breached upstairs, its dawn. There will be sunlight and police and fire will be descending on this building. We need to find the prince and get out of here. This is not going to be a safe place for any vampire in a matter of minutes." Tag: Hollywood, Eli |

? Akira was just about to ask what Gen was about to say he could also do, when he spotted Ms. Mia coming into the cafeteria. He saw her pause and look around the room, her eyes catching the new student. "Uh, oh. Well, guess you are about to meet one of the one's in charge. "That's Ms. Mia." He pointed her out as she crossed to their table. ? With a smile, Akira said, "Ms. Mia, this is Gen. I think Liza was the one that found him. Gen, this is Ms. Mia, one of the founders of the Academy." He made the introductions. ? (Gen) ? "Pleased to meet you, Ms Mia," Gen said, nodding respectfully.? "I apologize if my... arrival... didn't follow proper procedure.? But I heard that your academy is kind of a refuge for mutants.? Which I kind of qualify as being.? Kind of," he added with an uneasy shrug.?? ? "I was explaining to Akira here some of the things I can do.? I was designed to be able to survive a number of different environments, including some fairly harsh ones.? For that reason, my body has the ability to change to adapt to those environments.? I can, for example, grow gills to allow me to breathe underwater.? I can modify my hands and feet to allow me to climb or cling to almost any surface.? I can grow wings if I need to fly.? And I can heal faster than normal if I get injured, repairing in minutes or hours what would normally require weeks or months.?? ? "I can give you a demonstration, if you like." I wasn't followed, but the car I was driving is one of?theirs. The men who were chasing me," she told this stranger who with her very presence seemed to have calmed the nearly frantic girl. "They trace it here. But I doubt they'll try anything. Not here. Not right away. They don't like witnesses." ? Sadie looked around, then turned her gaze back to Del, "They want to use me as a weapon. They will wait until the time is right."? She closed her eyes, then put on a half smile and extended a hand to Delphine, "I'm Sadie Logan." ? (Del) ? Del took the extended hand.? "Hello, Sadie.? "Apparently a vampire Prince who feels he is above all others. That will not bode well for other supernatural beings. Maybe the lycan had no choice. Maybe he was sold into slavery. Did he seem to wear a collar of some kind?" He asked as they entered the main hall and found a place to sit.

Sometimes it was some young mutant on their own seeking refuge, and sometimes it was the police dumping what they felt were "mutant problems" into someone else's lap so that they wouldn't have to deal with them.? But it rarely involved violent encounters like the one she just witnessed on the surveillance record.?? ? Unlocking the door, she quickly ushered the dark-haired young woman inside, urging her with a hissed "Quickly!? Quickly!" and then shutting the door behind her.? ? "Calm down!" Del ordered, using her empathic power to overcome the stranger's evident agitation.? "My name's Del.? You're safe here.? For now, anyway." Keeping an eye on the screen showing the Academy's front exterior, she looked back to the unexpected guest.? "Was anyone else following you?" she asked quietly, her eyes meeting the young woman's rather striking blue ones as she exuded calm in soothing waves.? "Should we be expecting trouble?? Fortunately, it was still running with the keys in the ignition. She jumped behind?the wheel, closed the door and raced off down the street. ? "Killing that man was a big mistake, Ms. Logan," the voice on the other end of the line replied, calmly yet with a cold overtone. "We know where you are thanks to the GPS on that phone. You think you'll be safe there?" ? "I do," she said, walking toward the entrance of the school. "You won't come here. They won't cooperate with you. The government is no friend of people like me." ? "Perhaps," Gray said. "Perhaps not. You'd be surprised what some people, even people like you, will do when properly motivated. Money. Blackmail. Threats. Anything is possible, Sadie." ? Sadie was quiet a moment. Maybe she should have run farther away. But this had been her plan and she wasn't going to abandon it now. Raising the phone back to her mouth she responded, "Perhaps." ? She clenched her fist and crushed the phone in her hand. Once it was destroyed, Sadie dropped it into the street and walked up to the main door to the academy and knocked... ? ? ? Sometimes it was some young mutant on their own seeking refuge, and sometimes it was the police dumping what they felt were "mutant problems" into someone else's lap so that they wouldn't have to deal with them.? But it rarely involved violent encounters like the one she just witnessed on the surveillance record.?? ? Unlocking the door, she quickly ushered the dark-haired young woman inside, urging her with a hissed "Quickly!? Quickly!" and then shutting the door behind her.? ? "Calm down!" Del ordered, using her empathic power to overcome the stranger's evident agitation.? "My name's Del.? You're safe here.? For now, anyway." Keeping an eye on the screen showing the Academy's front exterior, she looked back to the unexpected guest.? "Was anyone else following you?" she asked quietly, her eyes meeting the young woman's rather striking blue ones as she exuded calm in soothing waves.? "Should we be expecting trouble?? (Scarlett) The redheaded vampire was surprised when Hollywood told her to wait outside and stepped into the room where the would-be?assassin was being held. Scarlett was a little annoyed at the move but?was still growing accustomed to the situation she'd suddenly been thrust into. Did she have the full powers of a Protector? Who was Hollywood and what kind of authority did she have here?? Inside the room she heard the water come on and frowned. It was a famous way to drown out the sound of a conversation inside a room when someone was listening at the door. For now Scarlett would wait, but she was now suspicious?of Hollywood and her role in this whole thing. (Elisiana) ¡°Really? Hmm, that¡¯s not what he told me. But then people lie. (Sadie) Sadie Logan knew she was being followed the moment she stepped off the train in Port Vega and made her way out of the station. She caught a glimpse of her pursuers, both dressed in coats too heavy for the weather here and wearing ballcaps and sunglasses. They were feds, she had no doubt about that. They'd likely been?watching?the train station, waiting for her to come off the?11:15 from New Augusta. Walking along through the busy train station, Sadie pulled out her phone and called up a map. She was a strikingly beautiful woman, with long raven-black hair, blue eyes and an athletic, yet shapely body. Dressed in a long black duster and wearing a baseball cap, she was doing the best she could to avoid detection ¨C but the government was determined to bring her in¡and they wouldn¡¯t give up. Locating the place she was trying to reach, Sadie pinned it on the map and stepped out of the terminal and onto the busy street outside, where she began looking for a cab. Without turning around to look, she sensed the two agents following her step out onto the sidewalk and move into positions a few feet behind her, one to either side. Sadie saw a cab pull up and saw there was no one who immediately needed it, so she started toward the yellow vehicle, knowing full well she would not reach the cab before the men behind her made their move. Ten feet from the cab, she could feel the first one move up on her and she spun around, just in time to see a black-dressed man rush at her, a sparking stun baton gripped in his hand as he brought it up to swing at Sadie.? The man swiped at her with the baton, both times the young woman dodged his weapon with lightning fast speed and on his third attempt to strike she caught his arm, yanked it violently back toward his torso and forced the electrical tip of the baton onto his chest. After the man was violently jolted by the electrical charge, he dropped the baton and fell to the ground vibrating from the shock. Sadie didn't stop long enough the assess his condition as the second man came at her, also wielding a shock baton.? He swiped at her with the weapon, which once again she nimbly sidestepped, then she chopped the edge of her hand down on his forearm, causing his hand to go numb prompting him to drop the baton. She then launched a kick up into his midsection, doubling him over and propelling him across the street and onto the hood of an approaching car. The vehicle slammed on its brakes, causing the man to roll off onto the street. From the shadows, a third attacker appeared and raised a pistol with a long barrel, a weapon Sadie identified as a dartgun, probably fitted with a tranquilizer tip. She charged at the man, legs carrying her faster than most normal humans could run. The man's eyes widened as he took aim, realizing he would only get one shot. As he pulled the trigger, Sadie came in under his aim and tackled him around his midsection, propelling them both several yards until they landed on the pavement, directly in front of an SUV which had to slam on its brakes to avoid hitting them. The man, winded from the impact, was unable to resist as Sadie pulled herself up so she was sitting on his chest before she started pummeling his face with repeated blows from her fists. After several punches, the man's face was bloodied and bruised, his nose shattered and one eyeball bulging from his face after she broke the orbital socket of his skull. "You killed him!" a young teenager on the sidewalk shouted as she stood up with blood on her fists. "Holy shit!" Sadie grimaced. Killing had not been her intention but she sometimes couldn't control herself when the rage took her. The dark-haired girl looked around and saw no one else coming at her, but her gaze did fall upon a dark sedan parked alongside the road with its driver door wide open. It was the direction the third man had come from, so she deduced it was likely his car. With the cab now long gone, the driver spooked by the fight he'd witnessed involving what he thought would be his next fare, Sadie decided?to take the car. Fortunately, it was still running with the keys in the ignition. She jumped behind?the wheel, closed the door and raced off down the street.
