She didn¡¯t have the heart to tell him that her parents and siblings were killed in a blood feud when she was barely 10, leaving her as the sole survivor causing her to live her life in hiding until a treaty was formed uniting their kingdom. But the marriage was a rouge to get her to come out of hiding so that her husband could enslave her. Instead, she focused on Draven.?

And all three came back with me. Now if two friends disappear and one lives to tell the tale. People start asking questions. people start asking questions of that friend. And then that friend is wrapped with guilt and tries to remember. "I didn't do anything, other than enjoy a meal of the girl that Tori was nice enough to share and the other one freaked out. So, I did use compulsion on her to forget everything, but Tori thought it wasn't enough. So, in all fairness, she didn't have to kill anyone."

The redheaded vampire stood astride her motorcycle, having been parked along the side of the street near the Midnight Club as she reminisced about her time with Tempest. With the phone raised to her ear, she heard the electronically altered voice offer her a job, immediately raising red flags for a couple of reasons.
One -- The phone number generally in circulation for her detective business was not her cellphone. It rang to a landline in her office at her main home and Snow, her assistant, generally screened calls and contacted her to discuss potential clients.
Two -- Why was someone trying to disguise their voice? Unless it was recognizable to Scarlett.?
Three -- She receives this mysterious call just minutes after Tempest made her presence known through another call in which she appeared to threaten revenge upon the redhead.
Scarlett was quiet for a moment, then responded, knowing full well this might be a trap. "What job? Who is this?"

She shook of the sensations she'd been recollecting in her mind and retrieved the phone. The phone number was blocked, but then most of the people who called her used blocked numbers, so it was not unusual. She keyed the phone to accept the call and held it to her ear.
