Roddy shook his head.? "No, I _want_ to show them.? They need to know what they're taking on." His expression grew darker as he added "And that I'm not someone anyone can just fuck with. They need to know that too."? He pondered Misty's suggestion for a nickname.? "Sounds like something you'd see in a comic book, actually," he snickered.? "I'm not going to have to wear some spandex body-suit with lightning bolts drawn all over it, am I?"
?
He looked the dorm room over, then shrugged.? "It'll do.? I don't need much.? I just wish I didn't have to share it with someone."? Looking back to Misty, he asked "So, this Donny guy.? What's he like?? And what's his thing?? And what's he go by when he isn't going by Donny?" He raised an inquiring eyebrow.? "Anything interesting?"
(Misty) "Only if you want to," Misty said in response to the spandex body suit. "Well, all new students share a room for a little while. Some decide they like their roommates and they remain so. Others, like their own space. There are not a lot of rooms so it works out. As for Donny, I will let him answer your questions." Misty walked over to the intercom system next to the door. "Here is a list of all the places you might need to contact...in a hurry. Otherwise you are welcome to simply wander the school and take a look around. Announcements are also made through here for important stuff that Ms. Mia and Ms. Del feels needs to be told. And," Misty reached into her pocket and pulled out a card. "This is my rooms number if you want to get a hold of me."
?
(Del)
"Funding isn't the problem.? It's getting the permits, lining up contractors, getting inspections done and all that fun stuff that _you_ don't like to deal with," Del teased, joining Mia at the window.? "Besides, you did say the priority was to get the living areas up and ready so we could take the kids in.? Which is what we did."
?
She watched Donny working out on the field.? "Looks nice enough," she mused.? "Maybe we could use him in some fund-raising materials.? Or recruiting ads." She then sighed and leaned against her lover.? "Or are we still being discreet and low-profile about everything?"
(Mia) Mia listened to Del and she knew all that her love had said was true. Getting the main hall and living areas done was priority. They wouldn't have been able to take in mutants otherwise. "I think we need to start coming out into the light more. After all, mutants are a part of everyday life and whether the general populace believes it or not, they are all around them. Not so sure about recruiting ads, but fund-raising materials might work." She turned around and leaned against the windowsill. "Something to get other mutant's attention to help bring in funds and more support. Have to find some normals who sympathize?with the mutants to help as well."
