Terrier livery help.
Hi all,
I'm trying to find out the paint colour/code that Traction Group used for Terrier vehicles. I've asked on a few Facebook sites recently, and have found out that the yellow was Middle Chrome Yellow (LRCC also used this yellow, however, switched to Buttercup Yellow at some point), however, as of current, no-one known what the green was called (I've been told its code was Masons B40, but Google returns no results when trying to search for that). The green is the same green that LRCC used also.? I'm currently on with creating some Yorkshire Terrier 1/76 scale model buses, and I want to try and recreate the livery the best I can, I've already tried several types of greens (and also yellows!) available on the market, however, have had no luck. I've even tried digitally comparing the green off computer images, but different photos settings and lighting effects it massively and it's proved inconclusive.? For anyone wanting to recreate Terrier models, I have found (after digitally comparing the colour against Middle Chrome Yellow) Revel Lufthansa - Yellow Silk (No. 310) to be an almost identical match, however, I'm still awaiting delivery of this and I have yet to try it on the actual model so the result when applied physically to the model, may not be as expected. There are also 2 Terrier buses now in preservation in South Yorkshire, and I know the aim is eventually to return them to the original Terrier livery, so the information would be extremely beneficial for the team who are restoring the real-life vehicles. Thanks James.? |
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHave you seen or owned the EFE models, Leyland National and Dennis Dart, I have 2 Darts and a National and they seem to be spot on for the original Green/white/yellow livery.?? Yep, I found the middle?chrome yellow on craftmaster paints, but as you say, the quantity is well beyond what would be needed for a model bus, and justifying ?30 for one colour for a model bus is pricey. ?It¡¯s the green I¡¯m really struggling with, if I knew the name/code I could digitally compare with other greens on the market without having to spend money on the pots/cans.? I have also tried Phoenix paints, I ordered the Lincoln green but it¡¯s far too dark for the Terrier livery, Thanks James?
