I tweeted Stagecoach about the change to the X10. Apparently the changes are temporary while they recruit more drivers.?

The issue I have is it's such a drastic change going from a full service to just 2 journeys a day. I understand the issue of lack of drivers. Although the X10 seems to have the same drivers on the service all the time. Plus when I've used the service people were using it and the regular buses on the service were 27187/8 and 27206 in September and October 2020. At one point the service needed double deckers.?

I do think it's a bizarre decision by Stagecoach to cut this service so drastically.?

The E300s are okay. They are quick of the mark but are slow on the motorway. Everything passes them! They are such a down grade from the coaches that were used.?

Hi Ian

Yes, totally agree but living close to the route, the loadings seem pretty decent and a total suspension seems surprising. A 2 hourly service would have helped!?

28671 was on it this evening and has seen use on a couple of occasions! Seems a waste now that the X6 is no longer run.

I guess time will tell on whether it gets reintroduced or not!

I worry about the X10 - the coaches/higher spec deckers offered an alternative to the train in terms of cost and comfort.? The trains are still running a reduced service (2 trains per hour between Barnsley and Leeds not the usual 3, and the 2 Leeds bound ones per hour leave within 8 minutes of each other) and they are getting very busy - I was on the 17.09 from Leeds a couple of times last week and it was absolutely rammed, easilly 20 people standing in the doorways on each carriage.

The E300s are ok but not great - on the flip side there's the 4 Scania/E300s at Rawmarsh that were refurbished for the X6 with decent seating, nice flooring and USBs that are rattling around ad-hoc on Rawmarsh work - they'd be great for the X10 from a passenger point of view if loadings don't demand an E400MMC.

I get there's a driver shortage, and I get that the X10 isn't as core as services such as the town work - but dropping from an hourly service (with peak extras) to 2 return trips only Monday to Friday feels to me like the sort of cut you'd make before withdrawing the service all together.

Stagecoach 19560

Hi all

Just seen this decker in Barnsley this morning, looking like a fresh repaint? Was brought up to bus station from depot by a fitter.

It also had the letter 'a' missing from Stagecoach on the offside!

Here's to St gecoach!

Stagecoach Yorkshire 09/10

Rawmarsh's E200 37105 (YX14 RZJ) is now in the new Stagecoach livery.

Stagecoach Yorkshire 15414

The last remaining Scania Omnidekka in the fleet - 15414 (YN54 VKD) is no more.? It was put under the low bridge at Royston yesterday afternoon whilst working service 59a (one can only presume the driver got lost).? Fortunately no serious injuries, but given it's age and impending retirement from the fleet it will undoubtedly now be scrapped.

Holbrook depot's E200 36726 (YN62 BNE) is now in the new Stagecoach livery.

From the end of September South Pennine Community Transport are to take over operation of interworked services 58 (Wharncliffe Side - Hillsborough) and M92 (Hillsborough - Harley) currently worked by Ecclesfield depot (PVR of 1) to further assist with overcoming the deiver shortage.

Stagecoach Yorkshire/Globe

Owing to the continued industry-wide staffing shortages caused by the pandemic, Stagecoach Yorkshire are sub-contracting operation of the following SYPTE tendered services to Globe Holidays from Saturday until further notice:

7 (Barnsley - Hoyland)
23/23a (Millhouse Green/Barnsley - Stocksbridge)
24 (Barnsley - Ingbirchworth)
401 & 491 (Penistone area Schools Services)

Combined these need 3 vehicles to work them (usually Solos) - no vehicles are included in the agreement so Globe will need to provide appropriate vehicles.

Stagecoach Yorkshire 03/09

Streetlite 39117 (SN18 XXE) is the latest of this type to be repainted into the new Stagecoach livery.

Stagecoach Yorkshire 17/08

Owing to a shortage of Solos at Ecclesfield, Solo 47727 (YN10 AGY) is on loan from Barnsley to Ecclesfield depot, with Enviro200 36412 (YN11 FFC) moving in the opposite direction.

Recent repaints in to the new livery are Chesterfield MAN/E300 22549 (YN57 MXS) and Holbrook E400 12165 (YN62 BFP).
