Hi John,

I am also trying to track down the death of William Farrer LIEVESLEY b. 1795 in Leeds. He married Harriet HUBY in Hull in March 1816 and they
had only one child Robert Huby LIEVESLEY b. 1817 in Leeds. ?Then he married a girl from Nova Scotia and had a family which I found
in New York census in 1855 where his mother Harriet had remarried to a Robert TURNER.
Have found their deaths,
I can’t seem to find the death of William LIEVESLEY and I wonder if after he died Harriet the wife went with her son to USA ?

Maureen

You will not find record of people leaving the UK prior to 1890 - the Board of Trade destroyed them years ago

Your better bet is likely to be ion the county that they went to and their immigration records

More likely to find them on the Canadian 1851 census but that doesn't cover all of Canada
Or they may have gone to the USA and gone over the border.

If toy found them in New York in 1855 then it is likely that they went there rather than Canada

Thanks Jane, lot to look into. I have some of the info about William marrying Harriet HUBY but wish I could get a copy of his marriage in case it mentions who was William’s father.

Yes I know what you mean when you find some info even if it isnt your tree, but so good to get some “hits”. I recently did a friends ancestry and of course had a great run as her tree
had never been done. I was “heady” on the information, because like you have soooo many brick walls.?
