Mantua 2-10-0 ?

Paul

Hi All.
Ok this might be the first sign my memory is failing. I loved Mantua
Steam locos and kits growing up some (blank) years ago. My Wife got
me a Mantua 2-10-0. I never herd of this model. There was a RMC
artical to kitbash one and I did that(sorry I sold it). This one
looks to have a flywheel on the back of the motor. Seems like all standard Mantua parts and tender. Can anyone give a history and is
this real Mantua or after market knock off? Memory is the second thing
that goes.....I forgot what the first was....Paul G. in Fl

Yeah, it's legit.? I remember seeing ads for this 'way back when, and more recently(1980s?) too. Usually in RMC and/or MR. Check your way back issues...

Mantua did produce a 2-10-0 decapod kit for a brief time. The URL for the first page of a circa 1980 decapod instruction sheet is

Go to the HOSeeker web site under Literature - Mantua - Instructions/Part Numbers - Steam Engines - 2-10-0 Decapod 1980 for the remainder of the instructions.

Paul-
?
Yes it is real!? In later years Mantua started combining parts into new locos like the Berkshire and the Decapod.

And what was the other thing I forgot ? And you are ? They didn't make many of them , and yes the parts were "standard" Mantua production pieces ! Henry H.
