Re: MUTEGTR lost patch (is it XG or General MIDI ???)
开云体育The only reference I can find to MUTEGTR is Yamaha XG and General MIDI patches.? None of which were DX7/TX816. ? ? From: MickeyMan89
Sent: 27 April 2021 00:07 To: [email protected] Subject: [YamahaDX] MUTEGTR lost patch ? Looking for a lost obscure DX7/TX816 patch. It's called 'MUTEGTR' (named?exactly like that) and it was used heavily in a show I grew up watching. I've seen a patch list printout from the composer's TX816 which confirms the patch name, but I've been unable to locate it. It needed to exist before 1992 at the absolute latest. The rest of the banks are a hodgepodge of patches, some also seemingly lost, some very common in the banks floating around today. My theory is the patch came from a bank on Usenet or similar service that, for one reason or another, missed the archiving trawl. I've manually looked through the original DX People archive and just about every single bank I can source on the web, as well as searched the limited patches.fm database, and nothing.? ? |

It's definitely not 'MUT-GUITER', 'MUTEGUIT', 'Guit.Mute', or Patchman's 'Mute Gtr.' I've attached some sound examples of the patch, it's a constant rhythmic element. I'm hoping someone here recognizes it or has a copy? This is a really unique sound and finding the original is my only hope. Thanks! |
Re: Transmitting tx802 banks from an mo8 sequencer?
开云体育I use a librarian software for my TX802. The thing that snags me almost every time is that when the TX802 initially boots upon power up, it defaults to Memory Protect On every single time. You probably knew that, just mentioning it to cover that base. ? L. ? From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Curtis ehudson@... E Hudson via groups.io

I'm in the process of going DAWless, but one sad drawback of this is that I can no longer send patch banks from the computer to my tx802. (One of the ONLY drawbacks tbh - otherwise I'm loving the lack of instantly available distractions). My Yamaha mo8 keyboard - a scaled back motif es essentially - does have an internal sequencer, however, and I'm wondering if it would be possible to send patch banks from it to the tx802 embedded in a .mid file somehow? I've tried it a couple different ways and haven't been able to get it to work. To the best of my knowledge I've made all the correct settings on the tx802, the mo8 manual is here for reference: |

I'll probably post this on the motif forum for advice as well, if there's still such a thing nowadays. Curtis. |
Re: DX7IIFD Manuals and Documentation.
开云体育We couldn’t find it for the scan and nobody contributed or sold it after I started to collect it… Maybe it is rare because it is for DX7S. Also Nr. 2. Daniel Forró

Re: DX7IIFD Manuals and Documentation.
FedEx office will often do tape binding, which is pretty close. Otherwise, you can see if you can run it on Lulu, but they might say no due to copyright.

开云体育Sorry, I wasn't clear. I meant bound, either hard cover or soft. A ton of people are doing self publishing so there must be someplace. Hoping to find someone that had done it before is all.GB On 4/13/2021 10:11 AM, Krokkie via

Any decent printing shop should be able to ring-bind it? (Punch holes in the pages and attach them with a ring-binder) |

detailed Yamaha's work was. I have an unusual question, does anyone know of a service that will bind one or more PDFs into a book? I understand that the formatting would probably be a mess, but I would like a paper version of the complete set at some point. Or however many have been found at the time I move forward. Re: DX7IIFD Manuals and Documentation.
开云体育Thanks for scanning! That was the last one missing for DX7IID, I couldn’t find it and finish fully this my original scanning + publishing project... Daniel Forró

Re: DX7IIFD Manuals and Documentation.
Hi Daniel, nice to see you here and THANK YOU for all your hard work preserving these resources. I didn't scan it myself -- I am pretty sure it showed up quite recently (last 6 months), either on the Yamaha forum or on one of the Facebook groups. If I can figure out where I got it, I'll let you know.

Re: DX7IIFD Manuals and Documentation.
开云体育Thanks for upload, and for NR. 9 which was still missing. I’m the author of the project of scanning all this (also Aftertouch magazines and more), which I could finish with the help of colleague Rawl Gelinas from Yamaha DX yahoo group, and some contributors who sold or sent original material. It would be nice to add credits. Have you scanned Nr. 9? So now only two booklets for DX7S are missing… Daniel Forró

Re: DX7IIFD Manuals and Documentation.
Not sure why the email didn't arrive (maybe the group doesn't accept attachments?). Anyway, my pleasure. I can't remember if I got it on a Facebook group or on the Yamaha forum. In any case, 1 down, 2 to go. It would be fantastic to get issues #2 and #4 at some point, I'm sure they're out there somewhere. Massive thanks to JB for providing 09_Advanced_MIDI_Applications.pdf |
