Since the 25 is manual, I think the antenna has to be adjusted to the portion of the band you wish to work. I don't think your idea is very efficient. I use a 102 inch whip with all band tuning.

On the 540 foot loop I made for field day I used 25 foot of ladder line from the tuner to the wire for my loop,,,,was 25 foot enough? GOT ME but it worked well and I used it on several bands that day.
