Re: FC40 connecting cable
Thanks to everyone - I have an 8-pin mini-din 2m male to male straight through cable, cut it and spliced the ends onto a approx. 40m cat5e cable, and it seems to work fine. Cheers, Bill G0VDE.

Re: FC40 connecting cable
But that's no longer than the supplied cable, and if it really works for Apple it won't work for FC40, or if it works for FC40 it doesn't work directly for an Appletalk. It's a plug on both ends so

Re: FC40 connecting cable
I bought an Appletalk extension cable, as that is 1:1 and socket to plug. I think the regular plug to plug Apple talk cables "cross-over" so are no good for the FC40.

Bill, After looking at the FT-857 and FC-40 schematics, I see that the DIN-8 cable is straight-through. Good Luck and 73, Eric / K4PYR [email protected]> wrote:

FC40 connecting cable
Hi, recently got an FC40. As you know the connecting 8 way cable is short, and I'm going to make another much longer one. My simple question is - how is the cable wired - is it just straight through

The RS-232 connector presents the same information except it's not TTL. TTL stands for transistor-transistor logic and has generally referred to using 5 volt logic levels. Most ham radio

The band data signal is the same for the FT-450D and FT-991A. I recently built a cable for my yaesu rigs that is working. The band select table is listed at the top-right of the diagram. Note that the
