Re: Yaesu 897D with FC-30 or FC-40 tuner
hi ken here, what you could try is to set the tuner set up on A and set up the 2mt twig on B so the rig dosnt think the swr is wayout and so dosnt shut down the power, might be worth trying, regards

Re: Yaesu 897D with FC-30 or FC-40 tuner
what might be the problem is what ever band your in the co-ax idealy needs to be in multiples of half waves so the rig sees the proper impedenceof the antenna,so if the fc30 is on the hf socket if is

Re: FC-40 Antenna Post
Open wire (aka ladderline) ... cause you can have high swr on that line NEVER use coax for that!!! Dg9bfc Sigi

FC-40 Antenna Post
I need to separate the FC-40 from the wire dipole antenna by a distance of 10 feet. What is the best way to connect the FC-40 antenna post to a wire dipole antenna? Thanks, Robert

Yaesu 897D with FC-30 or FC-40 tuner
The truth is that I'm using an MFJ-929 autotuner with my 897D and having a problem that both Yaesu and MFJ are unwilling to solve. Can someone here tell me exactly how an FC-30 or 40 works with a

Re: New Member with First Post
Try another length (a few feet more or less as you have now) It will work I have an fc1000 by yaesu (nearly the same as the fc40) and and some setups you have to shorten or lengthen the wire that

New Member with First Post
Just bought a new Yaesu FT-950 and FC-40 Tuner. Previously, and still in the shack, is my ICOM IC-706MKIIG and AH-4 Tuner. That setup worked just fine. I just wanted a new transceiver. I stayed with a

Re: External controller for FC-40
Well the Pinout from the FC-40 manual with a schematic shows: 1 - 13.5V (Input) 2 - TX GND (Input) 3 - GND 4 - Data In (Input) 5 - Data Out (Out) 6 - Sense (GND) 7 - Reset (Input) 8 - TX_INH (Out) The

Re: External controller for FC-40
I have an fc 1000 .... has control head and tuner box ... maybe the protocol is the same?!? The control head of the fc1000 needs just 12v and ptt and gives alc back to the rig for tuning with low

Re: External controller for FC-40
I am looking for the same information. Has anyone reverse engineered the communications protocol? A web search some people have done it with ICOMs tuners.

Re: extending tuner control cables
Another option is to purchase two cables with a mini 8 DIN connector terminated with an RJ-45 connector. Just run some straight through CAT 5 cable between them to extend to the desired distance. They

Re: extending tuner control cables
I was able to extend my cables with the W4RT pigtails and it worked great. I'm using them at home now on a permanent 43' vertical installation. One other source I found for the mini DIN connectors and

Re: 148 ft wire testing
Try making the wire 145 foot, look at the AH-4 Graphical Length Wire Calculator in the Files Section here in this group. Doesn't matter if the tuner is Icom or Yaesu, you still have to avoid 1/2

And with the spare witrs you can parallel the power wires for lower loss (depends if needed if you have a long run For me I used just din connectors and I made my own long cable Have an fc1000 Dg9bfc
