Re: FT-847 on 8M
Thanks, I was aware of that. The current experimental band is 40.660 to 40.700 for US stations. At this stage I don't even have a license to transmit on 8 meter. Tom K6EU

Re: FT-847 on 8M
Hi Tom, just a work of warning!! There is an fundamental at 36mhz. Be very weary about transmitting anywhere near that frequency. De Spence M0STO Sent while portable! please excuse typos.

FT-847 on 8M
I've tried receiving 8M signals with my FT-847. So far I decoded two stations on 40.680 Mhz using the 847 and an 80M wire. 73, Tom K6EU k6eu@...

FT-847 on 8M?
Has anyone tried using an 847 on the new experimental 8M band? I've been monitoring 40.680 (FT8) for several days without success. Given the time of year, this is no surprise but, I wonder, how

Re: FT-847 Won't Work in SAT Mode
All, So what I found out is the ALC modification that I implemented to use the 847 with transverter's disabled the SAT mode function. I'm not sure why but removing the diode that was suggest by OK1VPZ

FT-847 Won't Work in SAT Mode
Hello, I have an 847 that won't transmit while in SAT Mode. The radio works fine in all modes, bands and powers at half-duplex and in split mode but when in SAT Mode, the radio won't transmit. Any

Re: FT-847 Transmit Problem
Hi, I'm just picking up on this thread but I've had a similar problem before.... the two screw terminals that clamp down the incoming cable inside the FT847 are prone to working loose. Also inline

I would respectfully suggest that people are jumping to conclusions without logical thinking. Perhaps if the original poster bothered to read answers, it may help. I have asked what size PSU he is

Re: FT-847 Transmit Problem
Yes, I agree, the power on switches are known as a fault on many radios and would cause this problem. Not that I¡¯ve ever had one fail on me like that. But if there was a problem with that, you would

Re: FT-847 Transmit Problem
I've seen that symptom sometimes on the 847's when the power switch is becoming intermittent. They are a known failure item. Doug N7BFS

Re: FT-847 Transmit Problem
That sounds like a power supply problem to me. Possibly only able to supply about 5A instead of 25-30A ________________________________ Sent: Thursday, January 12, 2023 6:10:34 PM To:

Re: FT-847 Transmit Problem
Why would it matter what you have connected to it unless you are using a PC connection onto items as I said previously. The only other thing is RF getting back to the Radio, depending on your set up.

Does it have the same symptoms without all the FT8 stuff connected? Does it cut out on FM?

Also, I have had this radio cut out on me, when the 3v backup battery is failing or failed. And the only way I could make it work was by doing a full reset each time, and then everything works as it

Re: FT-847 Transmit Problem
Hello Phil, you have perhaps enter HF to your 847, put the ferrit rods and some tours of cables on all enter cables, I use it from beginning and no problem. 73 -- Yvan
