Re: If low at O/P then trace back D2016 switching?
Seems odd the voltages are good on the VF0 control voltage pin! There is not much to go wrong on a VCO I will see if I can find one! Get Outlook for Android

Re: If low at O/P then trace back D2016 switching?
I'll button it up for now so I can get back to using it and look for a PLL board to replace. Would probably be the easiest remedy.
Re: If low at O/P then trace back D2016 switching?
Sorry did not spot the attachments check directly on the the UHF TX VCO Does UHF RX work, judging by your measurements, I would say no. VHF frequency of 190 Mhz was unsepected, so the LO is high Looks

Hi the SAT button on and off a few times! Check Q2017 is switching as this will kill off the UHF RX and TX LO this should be working as RX is working can you confirm this, tx on a hand held or signal

Indeed we are, I will track the fault down over the weekend by studying the circuits 73 Andrew Get Outlook for Android

Re: UHF TX issue
For those who were following this thread... I received my Tiny SA signal analyzer yesterday and started checking signals. https://www.tinysa.org/wiki/ The TX local oscillator signal is present on all

UHF TX issue
Hi Max, OK you need to check J3006 TX I.F., and J3007 TX LO, they are common to VHF and UHF, The LO is the bit that changes frequency, check it does and the level is the same on VHF and UHF, if all

Re: Schematics?
J3008 - TX IF ~ 600mV Checked D3035 and D3036? both 0.762V one way, nothing the other

Re: Schematics?
Voltage readings: J3015 pin 7 (UT8)? 7.83V J3016 pin 3 (UT8)?? 7.83V J3011 pin 1 (UHF T8)?? 7.83V

For Sale
Hi Everyone, I received the below in my email today.? I hope somene can help the gentilman. :)? I'll give the group first dibs on this, then it'll be going up for grabs on QRZ.com.? Do NOT

Re: Schematics?
Hi when I need help, a thread like this would have been useful. There has also been endless Emails with regards RS232 interfaces! Ok I will not reply to the group in the future 73 Andrew Get Outlook

Re: Schematics?
Andrew, Is it possible D3036 is open? If I am getting output on the VHF side, then the TX IF signal must be present at the anode side of D3035 and D3036. I've verified Q3014 is switching correctly,

Re: Schematics?
Next up I'll be checking for 8V on TX at the following points: J3015 pin 7 (UT8) J3016 pin 3 (UT8) J3011 pin 1 (UHF T8)
