Re: My FT-847 won't transmit on 80m
Hi Greg, check the Group Files section, there is a folder there - FT847 Mods - in there you will find a Yeasu datasheet on frequency mods, it extends the range of the set. i uploaded it quite a while

Out of band mod? I wasn't aware that there were any such mods for the radio (e.g. to get it to Tx on the WARC bands)... Greg KO6TH Dave K?EKL wrote: Thanks for the replies. I have not yet fully

Re: My FT-847 won't transmit on 80m
Thanks for the replies. I have not yet fully unpacked the truck from Field Day. When I do bring the radio back into the shack I'll try a full reset, try transmitting on freqs across the 80m band and

Try wide banding it then a reset, failing that as these radios are rather old, so perform an alignment, this should sort it out. BR Andrew If you can not perform this then I can Get Outlook for

Re: Using FT-847 as an oscillator for practice
Just to put my two pennies worth in! What key will you be using? Iambic, swipe or straight? If you going to use a DL then I like to use a 600hz side tone (menu 6) as it always felt nicer on the ear,

Yes you can use your rig. You are correct in that you can use a dummy load. Just be sure to connect it to the correct antenna port. Be sure to turn the power all the way down. Micky K1XH

The 555 timer can be built with small components to build an oscillator. Google Morse code practice oscillator and 555 timer chip. Good luck. Douglas

Hi Douglas, I am not sure I understand about using a timer chip. Is this something that needs to be added to the radio? I get the impression that the FT-847 cannot be used for practice. What if I
