Thanks for the reply, Ken and Karen… At this point, I’ve contacted the park super, and we have a call scheduled tomorrow to discuss if the PA parks are even allowing camping in May.? They initially closed them for 2 weeks, but extended that to the end of April.? ? When I saw the payment, I scratched my head, thinking you were starting to forget more than usual.? Then I read your email. ?I want to thank you both for your support.? I am hoping this disaster doesn’t persist until whenever, but we will all deal with it as best we can.? Thankfully I don’t know anyone that has contracted the virus, and I pray that continues to be the case.? While I am optimistic and fearless in most things I do, this is not something I want to take a chance on, nor ask anyone else to take a chance trying to attend a May event.? Many parties/events are being cancelled and postponed, and I will not follow any arbitrary date picked by anyone.? Our event is fun, and hopefully you are all safely enjoying the hobby as much as you can. If it makes sense and the risk is lowered to the point we can stop thinking about it 24x7 every time we go out, I won’t know until we get closer to September.? Bummer.? Many of you know how long I’ve been hoping to find a place like this, and 25 years later I am thrilled the actual work is less than ever, and is something I can handle (as old as I am getting..LOL).? That being said, I have tentative dates for October 6-10 2021 picked…? with the possibility of a spring event to be considered.? Holiday weekends will not be possible in the future, as per the State Parks, so if I can hold an event, it will be like the old MDSP of yester-year.. Friday-to-Sunday.? I got on this from the NASA/Goddard Astronomy Club mentioning this group's start party. You have a fall one in Sept. Is that still?happening?? And where is the registration for it? There is a limit I suppose to attendees. York is closest to me from all the ones listed in our last meeting to me (near Baltimore).?

Hi Phil...Ok, I got it now. Could you tell a bit more about the electricity available. Is it electricity on the field, a charging station or just a couple outlets in a building? My problem is I depend on electricity to either (1) run my 3 battery chargers or (2) power my computers and imaging rig/mount directly. I have a Honda 2kw "quiet" generator...but most places don't allow running a generator.

I got on this from the NASA/Goddard Astronomy Club mentioning this group's start party. You have a fall one in Sept. Is that still?happening?? And where is the registration for it? There is a limit I suppose to attendees. York is closest to me from all the ones listed in our last meeting to me (near Baltimore).?

Phil...I have a 12 foot leonard utility trailer...you know, one of those white 2 wheel trailers that so many people haul their gear in nowdays. Only difference with mine is I've made it into a one person camper. I image from the table inside the trailer and run my gear from 6 deep cycle batteries or 110VAC which ever is available. Pulled with a 4WD GMC SUV. Batteries require charging each day.

How heavy?? 1 or 2 axles make a difference.? I am liable for any turf damage.

The pavilion has a couple outlets that I put a couple charging strips in for recharging batteries. It is between the two observing fields.? Not close enough for cords. The (north) RV lot is where (quiet) generators are allowed, because of fumes and noise.? Also where the real bathrooms are located.? Both fields offer good skies.?
I will be updating the website and FAQ page soon, for obvious reasons...

I would guess about 1000 to 1200lbs and 1 axle.

That would be fine as a loaded weight on the playground observing field.? You might check loaded weight by asking at a recycling center or scrap yard.? They generally do not charge for that. If you wish to run a generator, the north RV field is where (quiet) generators permitted, and it also has a good observing view.? There are campgrounds north of this lot, so loud generators are not allowed. ?
