A potter set upon his mantle a simple little
pot.? At first glance there was nothing particularly special about this
pot. It had no adornments nor fancy colors.? It had no handles not even a
spout.? One day it looked around and saw another pot. this pot was
huge.? It was filled with dirt and had pretty flowers growing in it.
?
Ooh! it said.? Why can't I be like
that???
?
another pot caught its eye. It was brilliantly
colored and had a handle and a spout.?
?
I am so simple and plain why can't I be like that
one?
?
Yet another pot was shiny and filled with sparkling
stones.?
?
The potter must have made a mistake when he made
me. He couldn't have loved me as much as he did these other pots. I must find a
way to make myself look better.?
?
Now how are we any different than this simple
little pot? our potter made each of us in the way that he needed. yet we are not
satisfied. we want to be like someone else. we slather on make-up to enhanceour
appearance. Because a magazine has shown us what the world calls beauty. We poke
things into our skin and call it being different. we even carve pictures in our
skin? and call it art.? why do we think we need to improve on what our
potter gave us? Didn't he make each of us unique?? Yet we are not
content.
we can look around and see the beauty in a field of flowers and see the majesty in the mountains he created but we cannot see the unique beauty he placed in ourselves. ?
