KK7OGV, Kevin Lynch
Good morning everyone,
? ? Please welcome our newest Amateur Radio operator, KK7OGV. Kevin tested with us before the last meeting, going from nothing to General in one sitting. The FCC took a little longer than normal to get the call out there. But for us "old timers" Kevin, you still got yours fairly fast. I had to wait a month for mine, others had to wait just as long, but had to walk to the Portland FCC field office in two feet of snow, up hill both ways, to take a CW code test and a written exam. For passing your test with us and to welcome you to the club, you will be getting a free years worth of membership to the GRRAA. Hopefully by tomorrow the 3rd party servers will have your call sign loaded and I will get you built into the Ham Club Online software. Tyson Brooks W7BL VP GRRAA |

Re: Test
So I have noticed that when I send and email to the group now, my email program sees the "W7GRA" and it auto fills in the members@..., instead of [email protected]. So I had to go in and remove that address from the program so it doesn't do it. I have $50 to give to you at some point. Luke and Cathy both built antennas the other weekend. Tyson

ARRL Oregon Section Newsletter
----- Forwarded Message ----- From: ARRL Members Only Web site <memberlist@...> To: "tyson.brooks5@..." <tyson.brooks5@...> Sent: Thursday, August 17, 2023 at 10:01:51 AM PDT Subject: Oregon Section Newsletter Greetings Oregon Section, The August Section Newsletter is running a couple of weeks late for reasons that will be clear momentarily. For personal reasons, I need to resign as Section Manager. Though my tenure as Section Manager has been short, some forward progress has been made and I have received a good deal of support in my efforts. I want to thank everyone who has reached out in support and offered suggestions. Your efforts are greatly appreciated. In the last newsletter, I expressed my vision for the forward movement of the Section. One of my priorities has been to find someone to take on the Section Manager role who would best continue that forward movement. I am happy to report that the search for the next Section Manager was successful. Effective September 1, 2023, Scott Rosenfeld N7JI will take the reigns as Section Manager. He came to my attention highly recommended, and after having had a few opportunities to chat with him, I am very confident that Scott will be a great Section Manager. I ask that everyone join me in congratulating Scott and supporting him in his efforts to serve the membership of the Section. Thank you all again for your support. 73 Jon Wanzer KK6GXG -------------------------------------------------------------------- ARRL Oregon Section Section Manager: Jonathan Wanzer, KK6GXG -------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe from messages, go to: -- Tyson Brooks W7BL |

Tower installation
开云体育Dear Fellow Hamsters:
As most of you know, I am attempting to place a 50-foot antenna tower on my property. Unfortunately,? my age is interfering with my ability to do so. I have asked for help from a local contractor. Originally the contractor and I had planned
to have it installed the week of August 21-25 203.
?I asked?Ken Johnson the Contractor to place my tower. He had to cancel today's Tower installation at my house because it would be unsafe to attempt in the rain. Unfortunately,?this
upset his schedule for the rest of that week, so we had to reschedule.?
For those of you?who do not know Ken?Johnson,? he had the MMA school
next to First National Bank on Adam's Avenue. Ken?also owns RAYCOM by the railroad track crossing on Cherry Street.?Ken installs Cell Phone
Towers throughout the Northwest.
Ken has an opening this next week. Wednesday August 30 20023. Ken is coming over to work on my tower that day
I?have reserved a 52-foot reach Hyster forklift to assist in the installation.?
I would b.e grateful if anyone not busy Could stop over I could use some extra help as ground crew for this installation. I?could also use help
this week building 3 antennas. 2 Yagi antenna and a Dipole.
If you are available to help me, please let me know.73
Thank you.
