???? We have a new Technician! Cory Rush passed his test on Tuesday night, but unfortunately, the FCC systems crashed and he didn't get his call sign till this morning. So far it looks like he can reach NK7J's Union repeater on 147.060. Beaver Mt is just a little bit too far with just the standard HT antenna.

Digital Mode of the Month - SSTV (Slow Scan TV)

???? Last month I talked about doing a short digital mode of the month talk at the club meetings. I was going to do RTTY, but figured SSTV would be an easy first mode to do and can be done by anyone.

ARLB007 FCC to Require Two Factor Authentication for CORES Users
The Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has announced an
upcoming change to the Commission Registration System (CORES) that
licensees use to pay any application or regulatory fees, manage or
reset a password on an existing FRN, or request a new FRN. Beginning
March 29, 2024, multifactor authentication will be implemented.
Users will be prompted to request a six-digit secondary verification
code, which will be sent to the email address(es) associated with
each username. The user will then need to enter the code into CORES
before they can continue.
In a public notice, the FCC said this change will make the system
more secure. "This additional layer of security will further
safeguard against unauthorized access, thereby enhancing the overall
integrity of information contained within the CORES system and
improving the security of user data," it read.

The FCC recommends that users confirm they have access to their
username account email and to add a secondary email address, if need
be.
Resources are available for those who need assistance with the
system. For inquiries or assistance regarding the implementation of
multifactor authentication on CORES, submit a help request at

ARRL Technician Training Books are available in town
Good Afternoon,
???? If you happen to know of someone that is interested in ham radio, but you think might be sitting on the fence when it comes to buying a book, I have two new ARRL technician books at my house. I got them off of Amazon for $29.66. These are good till June 2026. I had two a month ago. One sold at the gun show and Don was able to sell the other. Over the next year, I don't think I will have a problem get those sold off as well. I don't plan on buying and keeping any of the other books on hand.
