Tram NMO to UHF adapter

Recently added to the Amazon club list
Tram 1296 NMO to UHF (SO239) Mobile Antenna Mount Adapter
?
For those of you that have NMO antenna mounts on their vehicles, this adapter will allow you to hook up a SO239 style antenna. This would also work if you wanted to connect your vehicle radio setup to an external antenna (ie tree mounted) without having to unscrew your coax from the back of the radio and nothing running out a window or door.

Elkhorn Relay Race Antenna supports

开云体育

Good evening all,

This afternoon, Kandi and I ran the course backwards putting up blow line(think hay bailing twine but about 1/3 the diameter), to hang antennas on for transition 5, 7, 8, 9, and 10.? The twine is blue and white, and has a florescent streamer on each end.? These have my name and number on them as well.? These are to hang an antenna off of.? Untie both ends from where they are tied off, attach your antenna to the end that has the long streamer with my name.? Then pull on the end with the short streamer, to lift your antenna.? Mind you, please attach your coax before lifting the antenna.? You do not need to reach the top, just up far enough to make good communication.

If you have other means for getting an antenna up at these locations, you are free too. But most of these 5 locations will need to be up at about 15-20 ft.??

WHEN DONE at the location(whether or not you use it), please take the blow line assembly down and dispose of it appropriately.? I never re-use the product.? If you want it, feel free.? But PLEASE do not leave them in the woods.?

Thank you all so much? for your work in this event.? ?I want to thank Kandi, for all of her help today!? Also, a special shout out to TED N7NSL for responding to me on the air,? and keeping track of us.

Be safe, and have fun tomorrow!

I will attempt to print maps and locations out to have at the first available transition point that you come to.??

Below is the link to Google maps with all of the transition points.? Once you load that map, save it. Then go to the settings(usually the logo for your profile). Select offline maps, and select a good portion of eastern Oregon(make sure to include all of the race course), and download it.? This way,? when you are out of cellular service, You can still use your phone GPS and google maps.

Find local businesses, view maps and get driving directions in Google Maps.

ICS-205 Comm plan for the Elkhorn Relay

开云体育

This ICS-205 lays out the freqs and repeaters that will be used for the race. The K7UNI repeater will be the primary way to communicate with Net Control.

Remember to use tactical call signs like Transition 1. Be sure that you also include your call sign at the end of the transmission to stay in compliance with the FCC.

Subject: [ORARESD3] Re: RADO's needed for Lone Rock fire incident

?

Hi all, here are some more details on this request.

?

Operators will be working at the Incident Command Post located at the fairgrounds in Condon, Gilliam County. The work is to run agency radios in a dispatcher type role. The radios are already set up and they are looking for experienced "drop-in" operators who can handle communications and logging, and who are willing to work hard on a real incident. The Incident Command Post is operating 24 hours a day, and they are currently working 16-hour days with the day shift starting at 0500. (As previously mentioned, they are also looking for operators for the night shift). They are looking for operators starting with tomorrow's day shift (beginning at 0500 on Friday July 19). It's a camping type situation for the responders, so the recommendation is that you plan to camp or bring a trailer so you have your own self-contained accommodations if you are planning to work multiple days. (You are welcome to set up today, and work as many days as you like until the incident is over.) They do have sleep trailers available as an alternative.

?

Please let me know if you are still interested.

?

Thanks very much,

Stuart K7FG

July 1, 2024

?

Dear ARRL member,

?

Effective 12:00pm ET / 16:00 UTC we will be returning Logbook of The World? (LoTW?) to service.

?

As work progressed on the network, some users encountered LoTW opening briefly during which some 6600 logs were uploaded. The logs were not processed until this weekend as we tested that the interfaces to LoTW were functioning properly.

We are taking steps to help manage what will likely be a huge influx of logs. We are requesting that if you have large uploads, perhaps from contests or from a DXpedition, please wait a week or two before uploading to give LoTW a chance to catch up. We have also implemented a process to reject logs with excessive duplicates. Please do not upload your entire log to “ensure” your contacts are in LoTW as they will be rejected. Lastly, please do not call ARRL Headquarters to report issues you are having with LoTW. You can contact support at .

?

Through the end of the year, you may experience planned times when LoTW will be unavailable. We have been using this time to evaluate operational and infrastructure improvements we would like to make to LoTW. Those times will be announced.

We appreciate your patience as we worked through the challenges keeping LoTW from returning to service. We know the importance of LoTW to our members, and to the tens of thousands of LoTW users who are not ARRL members. LoTW, just behind QST, is our second most popular ARRL benefit.

Re: Union county fair booth

I only recommended next year, because of the short time span prior to the event, but if there are others that have the time and means, to attempt to get it setup....

Although this should go through a discussion, at least, via the board, prior to anyone doing anything.? It should be sanctioned by the board.

Sorry for not mentioning that in the last message.?

David,?

I think it's been about a half dozen years since we've been out at the fair. There is always a way to get an antenna up! Lol.

Thank you for bringing this up!?

To everyone,

Given the recent results with our attendance at the gun show. And that we might be able to negotiate terms of us setting up a booth, (ie insurance requirements, we may have to compare their requirements to what our insurance covers) maybe we can revisit the topic for attempting to be at next year's fair???

We need to weight costs vs over all outcome...? Maybe even come up with a way to recover the cost of going down there, and make a little money for the club at the same time?! I think we need to take into consideration, the individual enjoyment of those running the booth(are people able to keep warm and cool, and how much public interaction).? If we were to do it, would we consider getting a contest call? Or would we appreciate the extra contacts on our own call??

Just a few thoughts, I am sure there are plenty more questions and concerns!

Happy hump day ya all.?
