It has been brought to my attention that I did not mention the time of the event.? Sorry forgot to include this important information.? The event will be held on September 28th from 1-3pm.? All are invited to the Mobile/Portable Antenna Expo!
?
Stacy KK7CJV

Thanks, Stacy. I've shared this event with 406 Cruisers, the local Toyota 4x4 club. I'm guessing there will be several folks interested in seeing mobile setups.

Matt,

Wonderful!? Yes any of the local 4x4 clubs or backcountry folks could benefit from viewing mobile set-ups!? I am even thinking of bringing the RZR to show a mobile side by side set up as well.??

Thank you,
Stacy KK7CJV

Ronnie,

Excellent!? I have found it very entertaining to watch a CW operator!? I'm sure others would love to watch a CW operator as well!? You may just be the star of the show!??

The Parks On The Air rules for activating a park are a minimum of 10 contacts for a successful activation.? I recommend grabbing a few more QSO's just to make sure I have the minimum for a successful activation (12-15 QSO's).??

Thank you,
Stacy KK7CJV

Today is the day for the Mobile/Portable Antenna Expo @ Bogart Park 1-3 pm!!? Hope to see you all there!!

First of all, thank you to all who participated in the Mobile/Portable Antenna Expo!? James (W7EY) brought his BuddiHEX Hex beam system.? I learned so much from helping assemble and erect the hex beam!? Later Eric (KE7NLU) and James activated the park (US-4572 Lewis & Clark National Historic Trail) for POTA from Bogert Park. They were able to put 20 QSO¡¯s in the log while enjoying conversations with local hams. A group of hams from the Capital City Amateur Radio Club were camping at Duck Creek Campground at the southern end of Canyon Ferry.? They were able to make contact with Bill (N7MSI) on 146.52.? As the crow flies, it was 58.9 miles contact on simplex! ?Some curious kids in the park came over and Eric helped them make a contact with the Duck Creek crew. ?Matt (AA7VG) brought out his Chameleon MPAS Lite antenna kit that can be set-up in a multitude of configurations.? Sally (KJ7WFN) demonstrated how easy it was to setup the antenna in a Delta Loop configuration.? Matt also showed us his Harbor Freight case build with the Pelican accessory pouch insert that fit perfectly in the lid and kept all the accessories neatly organized. ?Matt also showed the Armolok pack frame installed on his Yaesu 891.? We brought our ultimate GoBox build with a Yaesu 991 and the smaller GoBox with the Yaesu 891 with solar panels charging. We brought the Spiderbeam Off-Center Dipole (40-10 meter) in an inverted V configuration with the homemade drive on antenna holder and the new to us Rez coil with 17¡¯whip and radials (80-10 meter).? I also proudly displayed the clean install Eric did of the Yaesu 2980 in the F-150. ?Steve (KE1HO) and I had great conversation about the Yaesu ATAS-120A.? He showed me his solution for getting the 40meter band to tune on that particular antenna-radials. It was a beautiful day to be out in a park playing radio. ?It was a fun time conversing with our fellow hams and viewing a multitude of antenna systems.

Thank YOU Stacy and Eric for coordinating!?
Wouldn¡¯t have happened without you. I only caught the last bit but the antennas and set-ups were awesome. ?Helpful to see things in action!?

Enjoy the day!

Nice meeting everyone this weekend.? Thank you to those who brought out equipment.? I appreciated the power of the beam antenna and was particularly impressed witnessing the sixty mile simplex contact!? I would join for a future mobile event of this type again.? Thanks for organizing, Stacy.??

Pat(rick) KK7KGP and I (Carol KA7ROL) enjoyed the Antenna?Event enormously since we happen to be studying antennas at this time!
It was a real treat to see James Ericson's (W7EY) Hex in action -- especially with young boys on bikes who threw them down to try to activate (and they did with Amsterdam) with Eric.
It was a real treat to see Mat's (AA7VG) Delta Loop assembled by Sally alongside Matt's Harbor Freight box/case that housed all the accessories.
We took a photo of Eric's and Stacy's Rez coil with a 17' whip (we are not living in an HOA!).
The Off Center Fed Dipole in inverted V was visible, but, sorry!, we are probably gonna buy?that awesome Rex coil!
Recently Carol's 20-year old vehicle was hit by an insured driver. The vehicle is in a repair?shop at this time.
When the vehicle is out-of-repair, doncha think it is ready for a mobile radio?
Pat does!
