Re: Facebook Question for our Historian

Just to clarify, the old Facebook page has great old posts and pictures. At first I thought I could transfer them. ?It's just that when it was originally set up, whoever did it set it up in a category that made it so only an admin could post, but people could comment. ?I tried to open it up to allow everyone to post but discovered that the category it was created under did not allow for that. ?(That took a lot of research in the help menu.)

Then I found what I needed to do was link a new page under the appropriate selection and it would allow open posting by everyone. ?I can't delete the old page because it is the host of the new page, but the other issue is the old pictures which I can't move over. ?Some of the old-timers are not among us now and it would be a shame to lose those photos.

And, yes, there are a couple of errant Facebook pages that have not been maintained, which is frustrating, but our new page with open posting is growing. ?We are up to 50 people. ?I police the "women looking for love" posts pretty quickly, and yes, we do get them.

Hope this clarifies and differentiates our new site and our old site.

Hi, Carol ..

You could see the club website here?
? Gallatin Ham Radio Club
? ?

On the page there "Meetings - Join?GHRC"
? look for the section "Social Media"
? ?

We have a link there --
? for the Facebook group which people are using now ::

? """

? ?Facebook group?¡ª?
? ?¡ a club for those interested in Amateur Radio aka Ham Radio
? ?in Bozeman .. serving Gallatin and surrounding counties of Montana
? ?[[ this link is for the new GHRC group page activated in June 2024?]]
? """

There was an older FB group but is was not used after 2020 [?]
? To see that, you could search in Facebook and find it

? I am not aware of other FB?

I looked at this radio, and it needs some work.
It is missing 3 tubes and the speaker is torn in a couple of places.

Call me if you have questions.

I'm a member of VRPS.org and have a friend in Belgrade, MT with a 1946 Philco 38-4 console radio.

He is willing to donate or give it away to anyone that would pick it up. It's in a decent, restorable condition.

Below are links to photos.

GHRC Meeting July 11, 2024 Program

Hello to all
This is a quick note to let everyone know that the program for July will be an update on the Welfare Messaging System along with a look back on Summer Field Day 2024 (along with what we need to do for future Field Days).? Field Day was great fun and wish everyone could have been able to attend - great comradery and got to see the club trailer for the first time.? Pretty darn neat. Don't forget - the monthly meeting is this Thursday at the SAR Building in Bozeman with the business meeting starting at 1900 MDT.? Hope to see you there but if circumstances will not allow you to attend in person the Zoom Meeting invitation is below.? Take care and CU soon.
