Thank you Eric and Stacy for opening your shop to the club, the instruction and all the unseen prep-getting the parts, creating the instructions etc. ?Was a great experience and great to have moral support never having used a soldering iron before! ??

Enjoy the day!

Re: 6 Meter Net

Gus,
?
Great news! We will start on 6 meter USB.? Last week we moved through the modes - USB, FM, and AM.? In my opinion AM is not a usable mode on 6 meters since I was not able to hear but 2 of the 7 stations.? But I'm sure the right conditions, right timing may make it more useful.? FM was interesting, because I was able to hear a station more clearly but then other stations I could not receive even though I was able to hear them on USB.? USB was the best at hearing most everyone.? I moved my antenna from the front of the house(we have awful power line noise) to the back and up higher this week.? My feed point was maybe 2' and now it is at 7'. ? The move dropped the noise level from an S5 to S1.? So it should help tremendously tonight during the net.? I can't wait to play!
?
We may move to 10 meters after making a list and getting reports on 6 meters ( if most are capable of changing bands). ? I am preemptively planning +- 28.355.? Hope to hear you on the air!

Let's try a 6 meter net again this Thursday(March 20th) @ 7pm on 50.125.? I will be moving my antenna and trying to get it up higher to hopefully improve the receive. Hope to hear you all on the net.
?
Carol-We started the net at 7pm.? You most likely heard Sally or Todd.? Todd was the relay from Bozeman South to my QTH.? Hope you try again this week.? Hope to hear you on the net.? We may switch over to 10 meter and give that a try so I thought I would give you a heads up.? Not sure where on the 10 meter band but would like to be +- 28.355.?

1). 4 MHz Offset Attenuator for use with a tape measure antenna for future fox hunts.? Cost to build is $15 for the parts.? Cost includes small box, circuit board, and parts to solder on the circuit board to complete the project.
2). 4 position Antenna Switch.? Cost to build is $66 for the parts.? Cost includes box and 20' of control wire.? If less control wire is needed, adjustments to cost can be calculated.? Control wire is $0.50/foot.

Re: Dummy load that I could borrow

John:
I only work F,S,Sun but I could take it in tomorrow and leave it on the "Will Call shelf" by the front inside stairs with instructions to Mark the M,T,W,TH assistant manager for you to pick up and when you are done with it you could drop it off any day and let him know to put my name on it and put back on the will call shelf. There is no rush at all even if it is several weeks or a month. I am the assistant Mgr on F,S,and Sun. The address is 317 Pronghorn. The NAPA store just south of Murdochs on Jack Rabbit by four corners..That should work for both you and me.Emoji I will take it in tomorrow and leave it even if I do not hear back from you before I leave in the morning.

There is a time usage curve on the can as it is not 1kw for continuous use. If it gets real hot you can set it outside to cool off more quickly.
