Both verticals are working. I got a call from DX Engineering informing me that our antenna phasing control box is being shipped to us. We should be fully functional with switchable directional patterns by next weekend. This has been a challenging and very expensive project. You can tell by our results on 40 meters thus far that this is going to be a very worthwhile project. I hope you will appreciate it.

The 40 meter antenna phased array is worklng well. I had the NE and SW bearings reversed but now fixed. Let me run something by you. something that upsets me. I have personally spent a lot of money and time getting this project going with very, very little financial support. Today I got several emails from people who did not contribute to any recent project we have had, but they strongly requested additional projects. IT MUST BE OBVIOUS BY NOW THAT I maintain this remote on a shoestring budget, often worrying how to pay our power bill. Now that the current power bill and internet bills are now paid, I hereby respectfully inform you that i will entertain NO PROJECT REQUESTS UNTIL WE HAVE AT LEAST $500 IN THE KITY.

Robert, KC6AWX, came through for you in making it possible for you to have 80 and 60 meters. Bob has donated enough for me to provide the parts to build a system to give you the extra bands non-directional. I will also build failsafe, idiot-proof switching to protect the system. You may want to email your appreciation to Bob.

We now have the 40 meter directional Vertical Phased array on line and it is working very well. I will soon give you non-directional coverage of 80 and 60 meters This means you will have 80-6 meters covearge with 1500 watts I had mentioned that I will be writing some articles for CQ Magazine. I would appreciate a sentence or two from each of you describing your experiences on the remote. Don't forget to include your call and QTH. Just worked a JR2on 20m but had several dropouts and had to log back in several times. Fortunately he was a very patient op and I eventually completed the contact successfully. Just wanted to let you know in case you were unaware of internet problems. My delay was .22. 73, George K4GM

Folks, I think interest in our DX contest has faded and I've been wondering what new activity might interest you and possibly motivate others to join us.. If we can come up with a neat idea we can promote it on a new quarter page ad in CQ magazine. I am working on getting our supporters Elecraft, MFJ, DX Engineering, CQ Magazine, and SteppIR, to offer discounts to our members. We may also soon announce a project we have been working on to get ham radio clubs involved.
