80 Meter Amp Fault

GM Keith - when I checked the remote at 11:23Z? this morning the rig was on 75 meters LSB and the amp was in FAULT.? Guessing we still have rf problems.? Drive power was set to 20 watts which should have been OK.? I reset the amp without testing it and put the rig on 40 meters.

We might want to put out some info about using "Tune" or "M-tune" if that's what is required.

Catch up later -- Don N4HH

All I can think of is more chokes. I don't think we had this much trouble on 80m in the past. What is different?

Keith,

I ran an OCFD for many years and while it worked great, it was a pain to get RFI out of the shack.? The design of the OCFD allows RF to travel down the shield of the coax.? I was able to cure it with a choke isolator with a ground strap to a ground rod where the coax entered the building.? In addition I looped about 10 turns of coax in front of the choke.? I got the choke isolator from RadioWorks?

He has retired and they don't have that choke available anymore.
