Re: Damn
Don., Thanks for that info on the CCC. Good to hear about your surgery and recovery. Keep on healing. ---? Ciao baby, catch you on the flip side. ?? GEO ??? http://www.w3ab.org You can say "over", you can say "out", you just can't say "over and out".

First, I'm a little late to the game - never saw anything "fail-proof" that actually was - BUT - couldn't agree more with John's statement - DELAY - and like David and DC, I'll be happy to contribute to "the" or "a" solution. That said: I've operated the superb contest station on Curacao - PJ2T - and what Jeff and company have constructed and maintained there is terrific. Granted, it's not a remote control station but excellent practices are in place there. If you are not familiar with the station and the CCC - you might want to take a look at their homepage and explore a bit; http://www.pj2t.org/ccc/pj2t.station.home.page.htm I've attached a pdf (and jpg's of each page) of how (for one of the stations) they are using the Bandmaster III with a Top-Ten Six Way Antenna Relay Box - as far as I know, there have been no failures in this "automatic" setup - as far as I know. Now, I'm not suggesting that we duplicate this - it's just info because it involves the use of the Bandmaster III. My problem in making suggestions is that (probably like most of us) I really don't know just how we have this all wired (kludged?) together. What goes to what, etc. I know doing a drawing is a pain in the ass - but it would be very helpful. Couple Questions Please: 1. Just what is the 160 meter antenna? 2. Do we have a schematic of the antenna routings and interconnections? 3. Do we have a drawing of the physical layout of the antenna "field" ? 4. Do we need to simply do some relay switching with additional coax lines? 5 Any ideas just why the Bandmaster is dead? Next time I'm out to the ranch, I'll make an effort to get down there and take a look see. In the meantime, throwing money at it is about all I can do without more information. '73 es gud dxing -- Don N4HH BTW - for those that knew, my vocal cord surgery apparently went well :) and I'm doing "ok" - have a follow up on Monday. Re: Damn
开云体育Keith…another thought….does not the step-ir controller have the facility to send 12v to the antennas on 80 for switching in the inductor? ?Since we are not using that feature, how about using that output to drive a coax relay to switch between the verticals and the 80m antenna. The same delay that protects hot switching of the verticals should also protect this scheme. John k9dx ? Sent from for Windows 10 ? From: John Battin
