Re: Someone suggested

I make lots and lots of ft8 qso's with JA stations and then send qsl cards thru the buro.? I see on them their running power, 50,100,200 even 1500 watts.? Traditionally FT8 should be in the 10-20 watt range but lately I have been abot to make a qso at that level.

Re: FT8

Oh God please no FT8! Let's just have robots make QSOs for us. Guys will sit on the remote for hours as their PC makes QSOs and they eat lunch or whatever.

?I guess that tells you how I feel about it.

Re: Someone suggested

I'm building a 20M FT8 QRP radio for portable use, just for that purpose.

W7DXX prolly won't need QRO for 99% of the FT8 QSO's.

The ultimate would be FT8. Somewhere I saw that 90% of the uploads to LoTW are now digi. The 2KA would need to be backed down to 800 Watts, 1K max.? In some cases the amp would not be needed. WJST-X? works well with RCForb.

I have tested this on one of Pat's smaller stations and it worked well.

that given the lousy HF conditions, we might want to add satellite operation to the remote.? We did this with great success when we used W4MQ software, but I see no reason why we could not do this with our present software.
I don't see where any internet remote base is doing satellite.

The Elecraft guys are mostly working from home. It makes shipping complicated and hard to make connections.? COVID problems.? Many of us know someone who has lost their life.? This is small potatoes.? COVID is in my house and causing extreme problems. We pray it will not be fatal and the rest of the household wont get it.? ?A slight delay is only an inconvenience.? Nobody is going to die. Its only a couple days.

They should refund you the difference you paid for the expedited shipping that was not done.

Re: KRC-2

You do have a reason to be pissed.? If you were charged a premium for shipping and they missed the courier pickup then they should reimburse you for the shipping charges, period.? Granted COVID-19 will cause some delay during shipping as it took 2 weeks to get my brake rotors from a Rock Auto warehouse in San Bernadino, California via USPS.

I FORGOT THE ATTACHMENT

Hello Keith.
I have some disappointing news...
Your KRC2 did not ship today.
We have several issues in shipping and the shipping vendors arrived?before your package was ready to go.
I apologize for the delay. We will definitely get your package shipped on Monday.
Regards.

KRC-2 Repair Fund

Thank you.? We have raised more than enough to pay the $145 to Elecraft for repair and return shipment of our KRC-2.? I should receive the unit back Wednesday and I'll put it on line.
The fund drive is complete with enough left over for coffee or a beer.
