Reference above. In the interest of coming up with more ideas, need to know exactly what it costs (soup to nuts) to maintain the remote station yearly, including repairs, insurance, electricity, parts, etc since inception?? Knowing that makes it easier to consider some options i have in mind.. For your consideration 73 Murray K3BQ |

The ARRL is having identical problems and the overall annual growth of the U.S Amateur Radio Service is a thin 1%. Amateur clubs, especially repeater clubs, are seeing double digit losses.? The ad in CQ is good, perhaps QST is better since it has more readers, well over 100,000 provided they accept such ads. One idea is to prepare a brief letter?or advertisement (perhaps the CQ ad) about the remote station and operations highlighting the features coupled with some words about the overall benefits. I don't know how many members belong to the W7DXX remote but send each one the letter and ask them to send it to their local clubs, ham friends etc. Using the membership in that way multiplies the number of recipients two fold. In my case I have access to over 30 local clubs located here in the Washington DC metropolitan area (Maryland, Northern Virginia etc.) Sending it the club Secretary or the President asking them to post it on their websites? or their periodic membership email bulletins should reach a large audience..."No guarantee but nothing beats failure like a try". ... Hi John, my error, the peak tended to be at 30 degrees. Don't know where the 318 came from.. Too much prune juice here.?

Query: This morning I was on 20M working a station in French Guiana, (FY7HB) which is off the NE corner of south america. However his signal peaked in a NE direction (318 degrees) instead
of South from New Mexico
Am I pointing the rotor/yagi? correctly from New Mexico? Maybe I am confused since I am use to pointing yagis from my ex station in Maryland nr DC? I don't believe it was propagation causing an anomaly of direction.? Tnx Murray K3BEQ ?

My rohn 25G 70 foot tower and th-7 yagi and dipoles all coming down this Saturday. Sold all of my equip over QRZ.COM which has a tremendous following better than ebay and no charges hi? You can see the station on qrz.com. Will be changing that soon. Again thanks.

Remote Spares

Ok, let me know. I pay the fee and extra donation too. Thank you for the opportunity and your hard work. Btw, in my own opinion it is ?not better to have hundreds of members/users, better to have a hard core of members. Good thinking there! I for one have not had very good success navigating the Remote Hams site. Or, maybe it's just me not being very tech savvy.? You bring up a great point; Remote Hams already has the "juice" as it were. So is there a way to capitalize on that? Can you write articles there?? What about users writing reviews of their experiences with the remote? On Mon, Feb 3, 2020 at 7:00 PM <keith@...> wrote: Some thoughts: |
Re: Important, please read
Some thoughts:
I think persons looking for internet remote stations will find RemoteHams very quick. And once they do, they will also find W7DXX very quick. So, they are basically a W7DXX advertiser. So, I'm thinking... ?- Add info about the stations equipment on the RCForb library page. It will catch the eye of people looking for stations. ?- Add info about the the station's equipment and membership dues on the RCForb login welcome page. ?- Add info about the station's equipment operation on the RCForb chat window. (Maybe the dues too). ?- Consider a discounted dues of $150.00 for a limited time only. Maybe 30 days? I'll keep thinking! |
