W0NE Winlink Net Reminder - 6-6-24
Hello Everyone, Field Day is only a few weeks away. An NTS message delivered to your ARRL section manager is worth 100 points, and another 10 points are awarded for each NTS message originated, relayed, or received from your field day station, up to 10 messages for a total of 100 points. Winlink can be used for any of these activities. For this week's net, send an NTS form to W0NE where the message contains the regular check-in information. For those who weren't with us last time we did that exercise, the North Florida ARRL section has a great tutorial available on using the NTS form here: https://arrl-nfl.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/NFLARES-205_Radiogram.pdf I'm looking forward to some NTS traffic on Thursday! 73, Ben - KU0HN

W0NE Winlink Net Reminder 5-9-2024
Happy Wednesday, For tomorrow's net, let's reverse last week's exercise. Please check in using your internet email address. Send the check-in to w0ne@.... IMPORTANT: Winlink does not typically accept inbound email from the internet unless the address is in the Winlink user's safelist or the subject line begins with //WL2K. Since I haven't safelisted everyone's emails it's important to begin the subject line with //WL2K. I would also suggest CCing your own Winlink account just to make sure delivery is working correctly. Here is the Check-In format: To: w0ne@... CC: yourcall@... Subject: //WL2K W0NE Winlink Net Check-In Email Body: Name, Callsign, City, County, State, Country, Internet 73, Ben - KU0HN

W0NE Winlink Net - May 2, 2024
Good Evening Everyone, One of the main advantage of Winlink over other amateur radio applications is the ease of third-party traffic handling. In the aftermath of a disaster, hams have been instrumental in sending health and welfare messages from affected areas to victim's loved ones to let them know their status. Winlink makes this process very easy since you can simply email any email address you want. For this week's exercise we will be sending a welfare message using the template under General Forms. Complete the form as follows: From Name: Your Name Date/Time: The current date/time To Emails: ku0hn@... (note that this is *not* a winlink address) Incident / Event Location or Region / Area Name: W0NE Winlink Net Check-In Message: Name, Callsign, City, County, State, Mode/Gateway If you do not have forms available, please send a regular check-in message to ku0hn@.... 73, Ben - KU0HN

W0NE Winlink Net Reminder 4-25-2024
Hello Everyone, Thanks for hanging in there last week with the position report exercise. I was able to reproduce what looks like a bug where messages sent to QTH are delivered there, but not to an address in the CC field. I have reported this to the Winlink Program Group. This week let's do a regular check-in. Send a message to W0NE any time tomorrow either using the standard net check-in form, or as a one-line check-in in the body of the message. The message format is: Subject: Winlink Net Check-In Email Body: Name, Callsign, City, County, State, Country, Mode (and Gateway if applicable) 73, Ben - KU0HN

W0NE Winlink Net Reminder 4-18-24
Hello Everyone, Tomorrow is our weekly Winlink net. I don't think we have ever done a position report exercise before, so let's do that this week. For Winlink Express instructions, I will refer you to the Emcomm-training.org's instructions since they are better than what I could come up with. They can be found here: https://emcomm-training.org/WT%20for%2010-28-2021_%20Winlink%20Position%20Reports%20sent%20to%20APRS%20map%20web%20sites%20(1).pdf Please note the check-in should be sent to W0NE where the instructions reference "Your local clearinghouse." If you are using PAT, Click Action -> Position and complete the form. This will generate the message and post it to the outbox. From there you can copy/paste the contents to a new message addressed to W0NE. You can either send or discard the message to QTH in the outbox. 73, Ben - KU0HN

Sorry for the late reminder everyone. I ended up working pretty late last night. For today's net, let's just do a standard check-in, either using the check-in form or with the check-in message in the body. My station is online for P2P (connect and send to KU0HN rather than W0NE if doing P2P) if anyone wants to connect that way. It can be accessed digipeating through w0ne-7 or mnroc2 on 145.670. 73, Ben - KU0HN
