¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHello Gang,
?
I have been busy hooking up a?monster 4 kw welding
power supply to a tiny little tantalum boat that I made.? All this in hopes
of evaporating some SiO ( silicon monoxide ) and getting it to fly across the
vacuum of my chamber and overcoat a freshly aluminized mirror.?? I can
pump?2000 amps at just under?2?volts thru the boat and the
transformers dont even get warm.? The same can not be said for the
little?boat.......... the first one became a?sad little splatter
pattern?on the floor of my chamber
:_((((((?????
?
So to the question :? as my little boat filled with
SiO is covered, how does one know?if the SiO has indeed evaporated and left
the boat ????
?
Is there a poor boy's
version of the crystal oscillator thing that tells you that you have actually
put some SiO on?a surface ???
?
