What you are seeing is the collapse of my empire... I have just too much STUFF laying about that has cost me an arm and a leg over the years and now it is time I start thinking about what I want to keep as I approach my retirement. If we are going to make the big move back to the mid-west (Kentucky area) after I retire, I don't want to have to move (AGAIN) all the STUFF I brought down from Illinois when I moved here 5 years ago unless I am going to actually get to use it. I'll probably be going crazy this summer (it's the heat) and empty out the garage and storage sheds. I know I have at least 3 Deposition controllers/monitors, vacuum controllers, various diffusion pumps, valves, gauges, ION tubes and TC's, and misc etc to get rid of. I don't see my dream vacuum chamber coming together anytime soon so I'm going to downsize the pile of goodies to a more manageable level. Stay tuned for more eBay alerts or if someone on the Group has a need, just ask and I'll see if it's on the disposal list. Hmmm... Speaking of that, does anyone have a need for a 20X1 inch SS baseplate with 1 inch feedthroughs and a flange adapted to a 6 inch diffusion pump with a gate valve and cooled chevron box in between? The valve and diff pump will need to be cleaned due to 5 years storage in the dusty Texas panhandle but otherwise it's all in good shape. Thomas has received the brother of this valve, cooler and diff pump so he can relate the quality of the items. Most photo's are in the Groups photo area and offers will be considered. Do be aware that you can also sell, buy, trade STUFF here on VacuumX, just don't make a business out of it. Ken Hunter ps... Thomas, I know that I still owe you an oscillator for the XMS-1 I sent you. The small workshop in the corner of the garage is coming together very slowly. Maybe someday in the near future I'll finally get it made for you. |

I have a cold cathode ion gauge without a flange what so ever on it, the tube from the gauge is 1 inch wide. You dont happen to have quick connection like this one on Lesker laying in a corner somewhere that i could buy and that you could send all the way to Sweden? Hi Henry... Boy, If I still had it, I would send it to you free of charge. I had one on a piece of surplus gear that I dismantled... See the Group's FILES section under the vacuum tubulation folder for some photo's and a a construction drawing. If you have a machinist friend, it would be easy to make one of these out of brass or stainless if he has the material. The one in the photo was destroyed while trying to get it unsoldered from the pipe. Ken Hunter |
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýHenry, ? I might have a brass one from Veeco inc. I recall seeing it less than a year ago, but in that time I have also moved house so it might be hard to find, but give me a day or two to have a look for it. In the mean time can you measure the threading on the gauge? If I can find it it¡¯s yours just lob me your address and a couple of bucks for the postage and we¡¯re good to go. ? Hi Ken, that would have been very kind if you still had it. However i
do know one that work at a company that use CNC lathes that might have time to make me one of these if it starting to panic for me. And one thing that i see now i have forgot to mention is that it has to be stainless or any other weldable material since i will have to weld it to the baseplate later on. The reason that i ask here first is because i would need it as soon as possible because i need to get my coating system in order asap and im very short of money right now after i have bought the roughingpump and diffusionpump. Just the shipping here for them has cost more then the pumps them self. But nothing to do about the connection, but thanks anyway! Hi Thomas!
That would be very kind of you! As you might have seen so did i however mention in the answer to Ken that i forgot to write that it had to be a weldable one. But when i now think about this again so can i actually use it anyway on a place in the roughing line and then it would work with brass since i will soft solder more or less every tube there. Whith this quick connection so would it be be easy to connect and disconnect a piece from the system which i would be in need of. And that would be much better instead of that i had to melt the soldering every time. About any threads on the gauge so am i not sure what you mean. This gauge doesnt have any threads on it what so ever its a varian 525 cold cathode ion gauge build similar to the inverted magnetron gauge principle. The outside is only a flat SS tube with a strong circular magnet on top of it: nsducers/cc/shared/525gauge.jpg I send my address and so on later on to the mail stated in your profile if this ok.
