What's up Dave?? It's kind of funny how much these hobbies overlap...? I picked up a couple of ISO63 blank plates with rings for $50. Vacuum projects
I seem to have been inducted into the new Vacuum-X group. My projects in the high vacuum area have been intermittent over the last few years, but it still draws my attention if an interesting project comes to mind. There's a forum I've contributed to some time back that may be of some interest to the members here if you haven't visited there yet. The link is https://diyvacuumtubes.com/ It's somewhat dormant right now, but a lot of this old technology may resurface after they drop "The Big One"! |
Re: Moving to group.io
Will you take PayPal?
|
Re: Moving to group.io
¿ªÔÆÌåÓýYeah, there will be an ongoing annual cost, which annoys me
greatly, but I feel the resources we have here are worth keeping.
Right now I'm in the process of getting approved for a Stripe account (Group.io required donation processor), so in the mean time I'm using my Paypal account for this (less than ideal I know). Once the stripe account is active I'll set up the donations
system in the group and my hope is that everyone can chip in a
small amount, no heroics, with me being the default fall back if
the donations are coming up short for the annual costs. In the meantime I'm hoping to find a free host or at least a lower cost one. PayPal address for donations is: Thomas@... just put something about the group in the payment description, if we go over the $220 I will add those funds to the stripe account. Cheers, Thomas Janstrom

I'll help. My understanding is that the $220 is just for one year. Guy Brandenburg, Washington, DC? http://gfbrandenburg.wordpress.com/ http://guysmathastro.wordpress.com/ ============================

Hi All,? Just a quick missive from your absentee group owner. I'm in the process of getting things going to transfer this group and the ATM_Free group over to Group.io, however I would really appreciate some help with the costs involved.? Sadly going forwards a few donations here and there towards the US$220/year hosting fees would be greatly appreciated. The Groups.io portal has the option to enable donations towards group costs so the funds would be handled at arms length. Getting the ball rolling on the transfer of these two groups is going to stretch my finances, so feel free to message me at VacuumX-owner@... for details on how you can help out.? Best regards, and clear skies. Thomas Janstrom. |
