Two AEHS students honored at the State level Reflections Art Program Contest!
I am super excited to share that two of our Einstein students have been honored in the Reflections Arts Program at the state level (Free State PTA). All students who are Free State PTA honorees will receive a small cash prize along with a certificate in the mail from the Free State PTA. This usually comes in June/July and there is a ceremony held by Free State PTA during the annual Free State PTA convention that is usually held in July/August. Prett Cotton was given the Award of Merit in the Film Production category. Prett¡¯s film is titled ¡°Imaginative¡±. Lauren Chiu was listed as an Outstanding Interpretation winner in the Photography category. Lauren¡¯s photograph, attached to this email, is titled ¡°Down by 10¡±. At this level, their artwork has been submitted to the National PTA's Reflections Program/Competition - winners from the National PTA Reflections program will be announced in May. I am so very proud and pleased to announce the honorees for this year's MCCPTA Reflections Program. Congratulations to all the MCCPTA student honorees! This year, there were 164 pieces of artwork submitted to the MCCPTA by students at 23 MCPS schools. Every one of the pieces of student artwork submitted to the MCCPTA Reflections program are worthy of recognition, and, as always, the judges struggled to select the honorees. Under the guidelines of the National PTA's Reflections Program, only 3 entries per arts category and grade division are eligible to be moved forward to the State competition. The following AEHS students had their artwork selected to be forwarded to Free State PTA for participation and judging in the Free State Reflections competition: Film: Prettlophine Cotton received the Award of Merit Photography: Lauren Chiu received the Award of Excellence Geysel Lizama received Honorable Mention Visual Arts special artists: Durba Roy received the Award of Excellence Brian Navarrete received the Award of Merit Visual Arts: Lily Pacuit received the Award of Excellence We are truly lucky to have so many talented student artists right here at AEHS! Winners/honorees of the Free State PTA Reflections program will be announced in mid-March. A ceremony for Free State PTA honorees is usually held over the summer during the Free State PTA Convention. The MCCPTA will be recognizing and celebrating student honorees in the MCCPTA Reflections Program at a special celebration on Sunday, May 19th in the afternoon. All MCCPTA Reflections honorees and their families are invited to this event at Lakelands Park Middle School in Gaithersburg, MD.
