Survey for Students, Wheaton Art & Entertainment District

Hi VAC Families,

My daughter Jackie, a VAC freshman, is on a County Advisory Committee for the Wheaton Art & Entertainment District, as their youth representative.? She wants to do a good job of representing youth when they ask her for that perspective, so she created a survey for students to give input that may be helpful as they develop the plan.? This plan will help to guide the A&E district for years to come.

Could you do her a favor, and ask your VAC kid to take a few minutes to fill this out - and, also, to share it with their artsy friends - theater, band, dance, etc. (and/or, you share it with parents of artsy friends?)? Please also feel free to fill it out from your own perspective - just put "VAC parent" or "PACE parent" in the field that says "Grade."

This survey is for any student/any Wheaton-area school or grade level, but especially students who are interested in arts and entertainment. A copy of the survey is here:???

She is hoping to get at least 50 good student responses, or hopefully even more!? There will also be a town hall for students in January at the library, where they can earn a couple of SSL hours for providing their time & contributing to the discussion.

Thanks,
Kristy

Hi there,
I am not sure this exists in the public forum. I have never seen anything like this. ?This would probably be a good question for the teachers.?

Best,

Hi Families, we are new to the VAC and I know the teachers are probably the best source for this, but I didn't want to bother them with something I should probably already know.

I am trying to find some program information about the 4 years of VAC--although I can see her quarterly assignments on Canvas, I can't find a syllabus that sets out what they are learning this year, or what the next 3 years' program looks like. Can a more experienced family help direct me to the resources that are probably online somewhere? I can only find the VAC application website.

?

thank you,
Jennifer

Art fees

Happy Friday!
I went on to pay my daughter’s art fees the other day and they were not yet on the School Cash Online platform. I checked with Mr. Valerio and he assured me that they are now on the site.

Have a great weekend!

Fall Play "Lavender" last two days!
LAST TWO NIGHTS tonight and Saturday! Join us as our WORLD PREMIERE RUN continues!

Here's a sneak preview - a video put together by the cast, edited by AEHS Publicity Manager Caroline Evans (who also plays Daphne). We look forward to seeing you at the show!

.?
Remaining shows: Friday, 11/10, Saturday 11/11
TODAY or available at the show!

LAVENDER is a multi-layered comedy about finding one's true self and living in to that truth. In an unnamed European country long ago, Daphne and Leopold are betrothed to be wed in a "marriage of convenience" arranged by their parents. Neither of them knows the other's secret - that they are each gay and have a hidden significant other! And in a land where alternative lifestyles are punishable by death, there's much to lose if the secret gets out. Add colorful but clueless parents, sincere lovers, a conniving servant, a gaggle of gossiping meddlers and an over-the-top queen, and you have a recipe for a rollicking evening of entertainment with a dash of depth and more than a bit of contemporary comment. Our production of LAVENDER is a WORLD PREMIERE by a playwright who was an AEHS senior just last year! We invite you to be part of the launching of another arts career by an AEHS Alum! LAVENDER is "rated" PG - 13 for some mild language and adult situations. LAVENDER deals in an entertaining and endearing way with LGBTQ issues and problems.
