VAC Art Show May 19 and 20 6-8pm
Kim Hicks
?Ms. Harris asked me to remind parents that the VAC Art Show will include work from all VAC students in grades 9-12.? On May?19, they will spend about 20 minutes highlighting? seniors and the rest of 6-8pm families can enjoy the show. On May?20, they will spend a short time honoring Jane Walsh who retired from VAC last year. All visitors may come either night. Please sign up to donate refreshments or to supervise the refreshments table if you can at Kim Hicks Colin '22 |

开云体育? Thanks for taking the lead on this Kim! Folks can still donate and we will use any leftover to get food for the art show and or replenish supplies in the VAC. Still waiting on their wishlist!? Carolyn (Amelie 2022) On May 9, 2022, at 8:29 AM, Kim Hicks <larrymocurlymom@...> wrote:

Graduation honor cords purchased by our GoFundMe
Kim Hicks
Using money from the ?we have purchased 33 honor cords for graduating seniors. I understand that there are 28 seniors, but a few extra were purchased in case of loss or damage. They were delivered?to the VAC today. The teachers are so grateful and Ms. Harris says this is the first year she has not bought them herself. This is what these teachers do for students. The cords were $10 a piece. I hope that in future years, you all can keep doing things?like this to support these teachers. Kim Hicks Colin '22 |
VAC Art Show-need help
Carolyn V Scalera
开云体育? Dear Einstein Families, Mark your calendars for the VAC Art Show, May 19-20 from 6-8pm. The first night will include a celebration of seniors and the second will celebrate Ms Walsh who retired last year. All invited to both nights.? For those of you who are new to Einstein or perhaps just don't know, the Visual Art Center (VAC) is a county-wide magnet program that has been at Einstein for almost 50 years!? If you’re able, we could use help with light store-bought refreshments both nights? Thanks so much, Carolyn (Parent of VAC Senior) |

Hi VAC parents, We have set up a for the VAC. Carolyn Scalera and I have taken the lead in collecting donations for Ms. Harris and Ms. Harnish to purchase honor cords for graduating seniors. Any additional funds will be donated to them to purchase supplementary supplies for the program. We are expecting an Amazon wish list to also be available so that you can purchase items directly if you prefer. If you have any questions, please contact me directly. Kim Hicks Colin '22 |
Re: VAC Art Show signup
Carolyn V Scalera
开云体育Welcome to the VAC! You can attend either/both nights! All the art stays up for the whole show. On senior night they do a special recognition of seniors. The second night is alumni night and they will acknowledge Ms Walsh, long time VAC teacher. But anyone can go either night and walk around looking at all the amazing work of ALL VAC students. I enjoyed senior night when my student was a freshmen, it’s amazing to see the culmination of work.? Hope that helps, thanks for asking!? Thanks for sending the link. As we are new to the VAC, would you please tell me what senior night consists of? I’m just trying to figure out if I should attend on that night since my daughter is not a senior. Thank you On Fri, Apr 29, 2022 at 8:23 AM Carolyn V Scalera <cvscalera@...> wrote:

Right! I was just trying to gauge if the wish list was just an idea or if there was a plan to help make sure this happens. I am planning?to sign up on the list for refreshments/support.? Thanks for keeping us updated! On Wed, Apr 20, 2022 at 4:48 PM Carolyn V Scalera <cvscalera@...> wrote:

开云体育Yes that’s the idea of the wishlist. Ms Harris said they liked that idea and also requested a signup genius for refreshments for the showcase. I’m supposed to talk to her this week and will keep you posted.? On Apr 20, 2022, at 6:50 AM, Lisa Lenhart <llenhartphd@...> wrote:

开云体育Yes, the Remind msg said 6-8 both nights. In pre-Covid years we did bring baked goods for reception (not to sell). I can try reaching out again to the teachers about fundraiser. I also dk if food will be a thing again.? On Apr 17, 2022, at 10:57 AM, Amanda Garzon <aygarzon@...> wrote:

I'm putting May?19 and 20 on my calendar. Are we assuming evening? Am I remembering incorrectly that in past years we had baked goods for sale at the event? So many school events! I may be mixing it up. I just remember having to bring baked goods at some point. Not that a bake sale is a huge fundraiser but a little reception at the Art Show is also nice - whether we sell the goods or just have them available. Love the idea for a fundraiser. Sofia had a wonderful 4 years at the VAC. Amanda (Sofia Montes Garzon - Senior) On Mon, Mar 28, 2022 at 3:07 PM Lisa Lenhart <llenhartphd@...> wrote:

I think?it is a great idea to do a fund raiser- if they do not have any?specific requests, we can always gift them money to use in the coming?year or so.? On Mon, Mar 28, 2022 at 2:22 PM Carolyn V Scalera <cvscalera@...> wrote:

开云体育The VAPA calendar had it listed as May 19and 29 as Kim said. On another note, since we haven’t had one in awhile, should we be trying to do a fundraiser or collect items for a VAC wishlist? I had reached out to Harris and Harnish earlier this year but never heard back. Just wondering if they’re needing to restock supplies. Anyone in reg touch with them?? My daughter is a junior, and new to the VAC. It's so encouraging to hear such positive remarks?about the teachers and to experience the support and opportunities?that Ms. Harris and Ms. Harnish work so hard to provide.
