Thanks for checking in about this because it can be hard to discern how things work. Sometimes communication particularly at the high school level can feel scattered or opaque.?

It may seem like it because we weren't prominent in their most recent email, but PACE does include the VAC.?

We would love every VAC parent to come to the PACE meeting on?Sept. 20 and you can learn lots more about how this all fits together.?

The VAC has fewer set events, and we didn't have dates from the teachers yet for our events when Ian sent out his calendar. The VAC events will be added, and information shared with PACE, just as money is collected by PACE's treasurer and earmarked for VAC events and needs.?

Our Friday 9/15 donut breakfast was decided after this calendar was sent out, for example, and is paid for through PACE from funds the VAC raised at our art show, our one big event, which is in May.?

We have had mixers for parents, and we are working on finding a date and location for those events.?

We have also had occasional opportunities through Amazon to purchase supplies for the VAC teachers.?

It seemed in the past like there had maybe been inconsistent involvement, or communication between PACE and the VAC had broken during the pandemic. This is why Lainey raised her hand and we decided to jump into?PACE. It's been going well and, speaking for Lainey, we do feel supported.?Bumping to just below is the invitation to the PACE Zoom on Sept. 20. It starts with a portion specifically for folks who are looking to understand more about the organizations.

Others on the list may know this - but, how is PACE organized, regarding how it supported VAPA, versus how it supports VAC?

As a new AEHS/VAC parent, I'm just trying to understand how things fit together!

? Hello Albert Einstein Families & Patrons of the Arts! ? I'm Ian Butteriss, parent of Clare ('27) and President of the Patrons of the Arts Coalition of Einstein (PACE).?? ? For those of you new to our organization, PACE is an AEHS parent run 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation?supporting the?Visual and Performing?Arts Academy (VAPA)?-- that is Choral Music, Dance, Instrumental Music, Theater and Visual Art,?including, related?extracurricular activities, such as Marching Band, Titanes Salsersos and S.T.A.G.E. ? To learn more about PACE,?come to the?PACE's table?at the New Student Orientation Picnic on August 24th, 6pm - 8pm and at?Back To School Night?on September?7th. Look out for an announcement about our first Zoom meeting of the year. Mark your calendars for September 21 at 7:30pm. For those of you that are not new to PACE, if you know any new or returning AEHS families interested in promoting the arts at Einstein, send them our way! ? PACE raises much needed funds for VAPA through a variety of means, including: the sale of concessions at all VAPA and S.T.A.G.E. performances, ticket sales at certain VAPA performances, the popular annual Jazz and Swing Dance, raffles, goal specific fundraising drives such as the very successful Musical Instrument Repair Drive, community "dinner out" fundraisers at local restaurants and the annual citrus sale. We also offer opportunities for corporate sponsorship in all VAPA performance programs. ? ? Last school year,?PACE raised $15,000,?in part from fundraising, in part from direct donations...all thanks?to?the VAPA staff's extraordinary skill and creativity, the PACE Board's diligence and most especially your tremendous generosity.? We are tremendously?grateful?for your support during the hardest of times for all. We also have greater ambitions this year, so we'd love your help! There is no membership fee to join PACE, though your generous donations are always welcome. All parents/guardians of students?involved in any of the arts programs,?academic or after-school, are automatically members.?Your volunteer time and donations, however,? are?invaluable?to the talented students and staff?we support.?? Each and every school day,?more than 1,000 Einstein students?participate in arts classes and related extracurricular activities. In the midst of these challenging and uncertain times,?the VAPA programs?continue to grow,?students continue to enroll?in?arts elective classes and PACE will continue to support the teachers in their extraordinary efforts.?PACE is enormously grateful for all of your support which allows the Visual and Performing Arts teachers to further enhance and enrich their students' high school music and art experience.
