help using the uber web site to ask questions before I can use the service

Hello all,

I am new to this llist and hope some one can answer this question and give me some one instructions. My knowledge of the iphone is still very basic, and it will be a long while yet before I'm comfortable using the uber app on it. So this is not yet an option for me. However, because of the limited nature and ability of public transportation in my area to help me in all times, places and circumstances I would like to explore Uber as an alternative.
I created a presence on uber by signing in with my google account so I can start using the uber web-site more.uber.com but don't know where to go next as a beginning user who has no clue where he's going and would like to contact uber support to ask questions. I want to research pricing, etc., before I make a decision about using it for a trip somewhere. But I'm not sure how to find myself various places using Jaws. There doesn't seem to be a "contact us," option where I can type a question and get a response from some one on how to do some things. What am I missing?
I can't find that option on the site unless I'm not clicking the right place. Where do I go to ask about pricing options, etc., before using my first ride? At the top of the page it says "plan your uber journey." Arrowing down it says "uber, car front graphic ride, keys car rent, restaurant, eat, receipt graphic my trips, Ryan graphic (Ryan's my name), chevron down small graphic, main region. Heading level 1 get a ride, plan your uber journey document collapsed, pick-up location, drop-off, then it comes up with some locations, report map set location, etc. No tuturial or anything. I need links for pricing from my home to various areas and various mile options, for example three miles vs. fifteen. This will enable me to know just how expensive it is going through Kalispell, Montana compared with going to Bigfork, Montana, twenty minutes away. Where is this info?
Blind people report Uber working fine on phones, but I'm not to that place yet. I rely on web-sites still. What do you on this list suggest I do?
Using the tab key it says clock pick now chevron, person for me chevron down small, plan your uber journey document, and that's it.
Is uber just not practical to use without a phone? Please let me know my options as a first time user who is not able to use his phone yet and how I should use the site, or if it even can be used and how to do it.

God bless and have a good day,

Ryan Coverdell
P.S. I am willing to talk by phone to any one who e-mails me I will give that information if I believe it will help.

Good morning Ryan,

Using Uber with the Uber app on your iPhone is very very simple. In many cases, it is no more than three taps to go anywhere. Using it on the computer is not terribly good because when you are done scheduling the ride, you go outside and have no way of knowing when the Driver shows up. With the app it tells you how far away he is and what time he or she is going to show up and in fact it even says your driver is riving now. You would miss all of that information if you were using the computer. By default location services is turned on on your phone so the driver knows where you are. Once in a while, Uber app will make a mistake, but it is very rare.

The first thing you do when you go into the app is tap the where to button and if you have never gone anywhere, you will have to dictate into that field. The address where you're going. Then it will list a possible place and you tap the one you want. Then you tap UberX if that is what you want that is the cheapest car and then pick me up here you would tap that and you will then be told when your car is showing up. You do have to put in a credit card number before you ever use the app so they can charge you for the ride. Before you tap confirm pick up location It will tell you approximately what the ride will cost.

If you have any additional questions, please let me know. I use Uber a lot because our paratransit system here is less than perfect. By the way, my wife is not really very good with using her iPhone, but she uses the Uber app with very little if any problems.

Ryan, I would be willing to put in your address on my phone and the locations that you're wanting to go to and give you an estimate price. I will tell you that these prices change from time to time. You would possibly be better off using the site go go grandparent since you're not proficient with a smart phone yet. Comfortable enough to use the Uber site. I hope that John's mail helped you earlier. And maybe give you a little bit more insight.

Go go grandparents is a phone number that you can call and some person will schedule your Uber ride for you. I believe you have to have your credit card and everything set up with them, but they probably will talk you through it. I have not used it at all, but it is an option. The phone number for gogo grandparents is 855-464-6872. There is really no age limit for the service.
