I remember the famous Sparrevohn Choir strolling through the neighborhood singing Christmas carols� � oh wait, there was no Sparrevohn Choir because nobody there could carry a tune � just fantasy!</p>

<div class="yahoo-style-wrap" style="font-family: Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif; font-size: 13px"><div dir="ltr">My Christmas at Sparrevohn was in 1956. I was eighteen. How the years have flown. Looking back to my year at Opportunity, I realize how quickly that year passed. I remember faces and a few names. I recall that there were eight of us on that remote, cold and snowy hilltop for Christmas. Other than myself, I remember Sgt. Bush, A2c George Pogue, A3c Jim Carpenter. A3c Jake Ordway, Other names but not faces, are obscured in the mists of time. S/Sgt Bush, as usual, was in his cups and decided late Christmas eve was the proper time to dump the honey bucket and the 55 gal barrel, over the side of the mountain. Not fun in the blizzard that was raging across the hill. That said, we got it done without serious incident. Bush passed out and a couple of hours later it was Christmas. We had a good dinner and pleasant time, a few beers and a flick.
